The team has amazing potential, and the stuff they did with the forced directing garbage Cerny put on the story, and art style wise. If not for those, this would have been a perfect throw back to the Crash Bandicoot PS1 era. All it needed was some Japanese charm, and they'd be making the next Astrobot level hit.

Odyssey really highlights the pathetic and limited level designs of the super linear, preplanned paths of the Galaxy games. Which alone makes it the best modern Mario game. GOTG though, its not even the best Nintendo game of the year nevermind gen. BOTW is in a league of its own compared to Odyssey imo.

There are so many indie games especially pixel art ones to catch upto. No big lose.

I'm on the other side. Skipping E3 means a dedicated 2019 PS5 event. Makes it way more sense to me, the whole E3 aspect being important and mandatory is nonsense.

I'm of a very Conservative opinion. The consoles need to be as cheap as possible, throw whatever you can afford into a 400 box. Get the price down ASAP. Give a mid gen refresh so they don't feel too dated in front of PC gaming. Focus on games. Get as many consoles in the hands of gamers. It's been like this for generations, and I think it's the way to go. Not everyone agrees, but that's my take.

With Sony skipping E3 it's either holiday 2019 or March 2020. 2021 is completely off the table for both. Power isn't an issue with mid gen refreshes for both anyways, they'll always rather fresh hardware.
