Because PSNOW will probably be absolutely secondary to hardware even if they have a stream box. PSnow will never have the infrastructure because setting all this shit costs tens of billions, and due to costs of streaming its very likely both will be loss leaders for years or won't even break even. The FT article points to Sony focusing on a tablet for streaming, which means they will have a very niche hardware base to stream to compared to Google and MS, that will shove this onto everything from phones to Switch to whatever. Man what the fuck has happened to SW, we've gotten to the point where we question if exclusives matter or not. What the fuck. The whole basis of SW, at it's tenant is AAAes vs AAAes per platform, and it's not even a fanboy metric. It's a consumer metric.

I personally suspect it's all just PR bullshit, the server blades are designed with Scarlett games in mind. Meaning they are probably specced to a fraction, say 1/2 of the actual future Scarlett box and specced in mind that they will run the game at say 1/2 the resolution or the Scarlett or whatever. Wouldn't even be surprised if games are actually developed for the hardware blade specs and then upscaled to the next Scarlett. No one is shoving the S into server blades, that'd be useless trash within 3 years.

I want Sony to throw megabucks at Platinum Games for a Japanese action game, preferably more than one. They keep working with AA budgets, give them 50+ million and Sony's first party tech support.

That's factually not true. I buy boxes based on exclusives. I don't own a single multiplat on Switch and never plan to, but I own one.

Possibly. But they expect their streaming MAUs to overtake their native MAUs in a short 5 years, and that's not just XBox, that's PC included. It's their plan and strategy, what happens is a different story, but native hardware is no longer the main focus or driver in their plans. All planning complaints to MS, not me. I don't come up with these targets or company goals
