Was there confirmation that this game uses UE5.4 or are they just making the assumption? -

John has a 4070ti... snd his CPU destroys the one in the PS5 Pro -
No. Why can't we make a thread and discuss aspects of the business in the UK as it is? The game has only sold 2/3rds of what Ratchet and Clank did at launch at retail and Chris Dring made the comparison to Ratchet and Clank for a reason. It's clearly not doing as well as he expected it to. And like I said... you have a far bigger install base now than when R&C launched on PS5.. so this game should realistically be clearing Ratchet's numbers whether physical or not.

The issue is that we're "mid-gen" and people feel that the consoles they bought at the beginning of the gen are just starting to get games that belong to this gen.. You were crying about Series S holding back gaming all that time... when games have been already been "scaling up" to PS5 and Series X... and now you're happy because they'll scale up jus a little more -

No he doesn't -
Just ridiculous. I mean, don't get me wrong.. I understand there's a market for enthusiast devices of all kinds and that these devices aren't meant for everyone.. we all value things differently.. but I truly feel like with prices like this, and essentially not dropping prices of base consoles... they're pricing a big portion of the market who would typically buy these consoles in years 4-5-6, out of doing so. People understand products like this "replacing" the previous produts at the higher price point, while the base products typically drop.. but of course it's not like that no

No, I'm basing this off the same way I base hype for any game. Nobody is acting like this was supposed to be the next Uncharted... but acting like Sony had no expectations for this game and that it was a throw-away title for this is ridiculous. This game is a god damn celebration of everything Playstation... coming in after a huge drought of PS first party games. Sony undoubtedly have higher expectations for this game than they did Ratchet... we're 4 years into the console generation.. A game like Astro Bot should easily be clearing Ratchet and Clank launch numbers.. it literally has no com

So the problem is that you're getting a new console before the other even matures -

Another thing that doesn't help the situation is that this gen still feels like it's barely started for the base consoles and now there's new hardware out there which gets all the glory lol -
Huh, I thought it had some pretty good hype behind it. It's releasing in a first party drought period, pretty much every outlet was fawning at the previews about it, then it came and knocked it out of the park with the reviews. People have been talking about how good it looked since it was announced. Aint nobody hyping things from financial statements Expectations are definitely more than a couple million.. lmao come on dude...

Yes! That's what it was that gave me that idea lol.. ok I'm not crazy then. -
Selling the same as Ratchet and Clank would be disappointing... considering the hype this game had, and the amount of PS5 consoles out now compared to when Ratchet launched. I see no problem with comparing the physical sales of one game to another and questioning whether the game is selling well. Digital sales "making up" for lost physical sales isn't exactly great either. Like I said... either the game isn't doing as well as people hoped.. or physical is really falling off.

Oh ok, for some reason I thought it was 3rd party. That's good then. Hopefully they have some good stuff to show. -

Being honest though... Sony should have had this announcement lined up with some proper next gen graphical showcases. Using previously released titles like Ratchet, TLOUP2, and God of War to demonstrate the new hardware isn't doing them any favors because they already look great and have for years. They should have had a special Death Stranding 2 PS5 Pro cinematic/gameplay clip lined up with vastly increased detail than what PS5 could do, and honestly they should have had some big announcements like HL:A for PSVR2 and some other cool new games to demonstrate the hardware. I know -

Looking forward to this because it's new tech.. but mostly anxious to see how good PSSR is and how it compares to DLSS. It would be really good to see something finally dethrone DLSS and push Nvidia. We know they're already working on the "next generation" of DLSS, but don't know exactly what that means yet.. but all I know is that if Sony matches them or bests them, they'll push that much harder to improve it yet.
