  1. I'm not all about the latest tech though... I'm damn near 40 years old. I'm not buying multiple consoles and PC which share 95% of the same damn games anymore. PC is simply a far better platform to me and I'm done with consoles... so there's absolutely no chance I'm going to buy a console to play a game I can already play on one of the devices I already own... and one that will play it better later on. Miss me with that shit... especially while you're going on about there being no reason to own a PS5... you know I'm right
  2. Weren't you laughing at me for playing the last gen version of God of War and stating that it wasn't worth getting a PS5 for?
  3. Holy shit let's go France
  4. You're not arguing anything I said... Tech will evolve, and open up new possibilities for VR. The tech isn't there yet at mass market prices for the consumer, and everything else isn't where it needs to be either for any of the sectors you mentioned. And you very specifically mentioned the QUEST product line... The industry is consolidating around that hardware level... because again, as I said... there's only so much you can do at that price/power and form factor currently. And the Quest is the ONLY VR device to really find success at all... so that's what the industry is zeroing i
  5. Well I mean dude.. it's what's selling any Xboxes at all at this point. Of course the service is good.. especially for specific types of consumers.. nobody can truly deny that. But it could be way better and more successful than it is, if MS actually had a strong consistent first party output for it. The problem is that MS always squanders anything good they have. They're basically like AMD at this point. Xbox and GamePass should have had amazing momentum this generation. If Halo had released at launch and been a complete product.. then Forza, and then Hellblade 2,
  6. Of course the industry is consolidating around the only thing that has found any amount of real success and potential. There's currently only so much you can do with stand alone headsets from a power perspective. But if you read Carmack's entire internal letter, you see where his problem lies. Too much wasted energy internally battling on the direction it should evolve.. and since he knows he's not going to change Zuckerberg's direction, he's bouncing. The thing about VR is... it will never go away. As time goes on and technology evolves enabling new paradigms... VR
  7. I'm going to see it, simply for the visuals.
  8. True, I suppose. But then it just leads to the other point that Activision didn't want their games on any subscription services as they feel would devalue it. The amount of money MS would have to pay for simple GP day and date would be astronomical, and not worth it. They likely simply said "no way." It wouldn't just be the cost of sales lost upfront.. but also a price for the risk of devaluing the franchise.. and Activision wouldn't want to take that chance. That just also points to COD not being the only thing MS are after with this deal. If we take Phil Spencer's statements
  9. Don't they have a marketing deal with Sony? Probably prohibits any type of thing. And then on top of that Activision went on record saying they feel it would devalue their franchise by putting it on subscription services. I guarantee you MS already tried very hard to get COD on GP.
  10. Can you go a single thread without mentioning "xbox"?
  11. Gotta admit though, the loading times are pretty incredible. I'm also not saying it's a bad looking game.. it's just not next gen. It's clear that the only workout the SSD is being given is when it loads upfront.. not really how much it's streaming in during gameplay.
  12. Clearly it was running on PC before.. despite their trailers saying "PS5 dev footage" lol But yea, pretty massive downgrade.
  13. @Twinblade They just released a new patch which addresses at least one of your issues.. the weapon switching is much much faster now, I can confirm that. They list: -Combat improvements -Performance and stability fixes -Localization optimizations -General quality of life changes. They also added a progress screen while its compiles shaders for first boot, which is a lot nicer than the company logos being choppy while it did it before
  14. While that might sound like a good idea, you have to remember that it takes TONS of upkeep and maintenance to keep up an engine like that. Like CDPR having to tailor their RED engine to CP2077 after The Witcher. It takes almost a massive rewrite of things, and then you begin to develop tech debt.. which can completely stifle engine development if they commit to one thing over the other.. They should have the Forza Engine.. which is an awesome engine. Halo's engine is what should have been a lot better than it was.. They made it sound like they had developed a mostly brand new e
  15. Yea, it does. When you think about it, the Playground Games crew using the engine makes a lot of sense.. but if the new team is mostly contractors who have never used the engine before, that takes a ton of time to train people and get all the workflows in place... and during that time you're undoubtedly going to have turnover... so you're essentially wasting time training people for an engine that they'll never use anywhere else... and as already stated, they're contractors.. so they know they're not staying long... which means you have even less output from people. It's just terr
  16. I'm getting tired of waiting for Xbox.. It's hilarious, even a lot of the very hardcore lemmings on Twitter are starting to call MS out pretty hard now.. that shows you how bad its getting.
  17. I think mine is probably Diablo 4. It's close between it and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.. but it's been a lot longer since the last mainline Diablo game. It's looking awesome, and the previews have been really positive. I can't wait to get back into that world. Tomorrow the Collector's Edition goes up for order. Hoping I can get one. I have all the other Diablo Collector's Editions, so I kinda want this. It's pathetic though how it doesn't have a copy of the game included... Diablo 3 had a USB with the code, as well as D2 and D2:LoD.
  18. They're still looking for concept artists and character artists.. after how many years now? 2-3? Oh and let's see... https://www.windowscentral.com/gaming/xbox/xboxs-no-show-at-the-game-awards-caps-off-a-disappointing-2022 So basically... they want developers to use the proprietary engines... bring people in... train them to use it... and then they end up losing them and basically no work gets done.. The management of these studios is just incredible stupid.. smh
  19. RT is severely CPU limited in this version of the engine. I haven't tried it yet.. but that will be obvious. You also have the fact that the game has a ton of foliage with alpha textures which would increase the demand for RT significantly over even a game like Cyberpunk 2077. It's definitely putting a lot of stress on the CPU. Add to that the Ultra+ settings that people want to run the game at.. with nearly unlimited draw distance... and you have a recipe for disaster. Also, the game apparently seems to be using "dx11on12"...which basically means that it's running through an A
  20. I bet they couldn't get you to play your PS5
