  1. Yep. Getting actual tangible things for your money is what made it all so special. Standard game packages today miss that mark. Sure you get some special editions which attempt to offer some of that value, but those are the exceptions not the rule. Nintendo Power was so fucking ownage
  2. Yep, you're absolutely right about those things also being a part of the experience. We've all had that experience of eagerly waiting to get back home with our game, opening it up and reading the manuals and putting the posters up on our walls in our bedrooms. One of my prized gaming possessions is the original FF1. I got it for Christmas.. and not only was it this massive new adventure, but it also came with a Nintendo Power Strategy guide. My LORD was I enamored with it. I couldn't even really read it back then lol... but it had tons of images a
  3. The true Sonic fans are diehards. Sonic has mostly sucked since 1-3 on the Genesis. Some people even think it sucked back then, but I think the classic games are awesome and definitely served the market well at that point in time. It's such a staple, that gamers are always willing to give it a chance, no matter how many times they get burned from it. The Sonic cycle is well known by now. It's also the same reason why people forever hold out hope that the next Final Fantasy will be an incredible thing. After 12, 13, 15... multiple weak releases in a row, you still have a massiv
  4. I came in 2007 lol. I was here in 2006 already... just lurking though, I never made an account until after. I knew what I was getting into lol
  5. Yeah it's really close to that price. I often see people talk about games in the past, like SNES, GENSIS, N64, and PS1 games costing similar prices back in the day... which was true when you account for inflation.. but back then you also got a beautiful game box, an actual cartridge with physical chips and memory, and big color manuals, also with other extras inside the box like posters and magazine offers. Paying $70 for a cartridge and a beautiful box art and manual is easily understandable for me. But a cheap as fuck plastic disc, a plastic game case with every pos
  6. I was on GameFAQs before I found out about SystemWars. I knew about the original SW Gamespot forum, but didn't really post there. Hell I knew about this forum and just lurked for a while before ever posting. I posted on and do continue to post on many forums though. Sometimes it's hard and you have to bite your tongue lol.
  7. It's good that they got a SKU down to that price for sure, however, I honestly wouldn't recommend it because 64GB is simply too low. Hell, even the 256GB version I have is pushing it really. I mean, it's fine, but annoying having to delete and remove/move games because of a lack of space. There's constant shader cache downloads which can add up if you have a lot of games installed on your Deck. Yes, the MicroSD cards obviously make things better, but high capacity cards aren't exactly cheap either.. especially if you want a decent one with solid speeds to ensure proper function.
  8. That's absolutely what they should have done for PS owners indeed. Having both TLOU P1, and TLOU P2 (with PS5 patch) for full price would be fair for console owners. For PC players though, I think in this case it's completely fine to charge full price for each game separately. It's a lot of work to bring them to PC in the first place, and they've completely rebuilt the visuals for P1 to essentially match P2.. so I'm down with it. Another Scumny thing regarding this game is the apparent lack of accountability by Sony to replace the Firefly Editions (only sold di
  9. Playing more TMNT Cowabunga Collection... and god damn. I just realized how much this collection improves Tutrles in Time in both the Arcade and SNES versions. I always liked TMNT: Hyperstone Heist on the Genesis more because the game had a dedicated dash button. I always loved dashing and shoulder bashing in that game. In the Arcade and SNES versions of Turtles in Time, you had to hold forward in the direction you were moving and you'd eventually start dashing. Moving was really constricted comparatively. The SNES version controls far tighter than the Arcade versi
  10. It's a dirty cash grab, especially for the cows... but as I've said before it makes sense in the context of what they're doing with the entire franchise right now. New gamers coming in from the upcoming TV show New PC players New PS5 players who never owned a PS console before Sets the stage for TLOU: Factions upcoming multiplayer game They're targeting a wider audience with this release. Bringing this game up to the level of the sequel for true fans of the series and for people who have never played it before is the right call.
  11. No. There's nothing wrong with playing this game instead of your PS5. That only becomes a problem when you're on a forum every day talking shit about indie games, PC games, while talking about how amazing those Playstation games are in comparison. Only THEN is that statement true. Of course for our resident hypocrite and fakeboy Jerky... that's verifiably true
  12. I agree. Especially on the high end. They could have done it. Should have had an OLED option right from the start.
  13. It would have been nice for sure, but Valve has other hurdles to put their budget towards. The Deck's screen is perfectly fine, and it's only when you're comparing them directly with OLEDs that you really even think about that stuff. There's lots of improvements to make for future Decks. I'm sure the next iteration will have an LCD version AND an OLED version. They can more organically upgrade these devices than Nintendo or other console manufacturers can. The entire system is built around every aspect scaling in the future.
  14. It's immediately apparent in person that the Deck's screen is better. It's not up for debate with anyone who has both and can easily compare them. Now the OLED Switch is better of course, but again, I'd take the Deck with it's LCD screen over a OLED Switch any day of the week.
  15. People have compared newly color calibrated Decks to the standard Deck default output Before After
  16. None of that changes what I said. And the Deck has been updated to offer color calibration, which was lacking in the beginning. The Deck came out of the gate with a fairly poor calibration, which was skewed to the cold side. That's easily adjustable now. Like I've said... it's better than the OG Switch. It's a bigger screen, and I can compare them directly in the exact same lighting conditions and the Deck is brighter and pops just a hair more. I'm fine with calling them equal... with the Deck screen winning overall because it has a much larger display wi
  17. Jerky's inner monologue right now TLHBO has you absolutely pegged in this thread. Called you out for EXACTLY what you're doing
  18. LOL I said that I said the same thing Valve said.... not what you or gouko claimed I said. Look at this fucking idiot try..... and fail completely, again. Can't have a legit argument to save his life
  19. I'm not backtracking anything you clown. LOL you're trying to act like I'm backing away from something I said when I'm simply denying what you said. LMAO idiot... I can't be backtracking from something YOU claimed OMG he actually thought he was going to do that
  20. It doesn't matter what you believe. I'm the only person here who can verify anything because I own both devices... and an OLED phone that's better than any portable OLED screen you have access to. Take your little butthurt ass on out of this thread and cry somewhere else
  21. Holy shit Switch OMFG LOL EMBARRASSING Switch's suffering from ring of white light OMG LOL
  22. Jerky, there's only one of us here who has both... and Steam Deck 100% shits on the original Switch. I have a phone with a better OLED display than both your phone or your Switch... and I'd choose the Steam Deck to play games every single time. And LOL hilarious that you'd post a picture of Steam Deck running Breath of the Wild LMFAO TSHBR OMG thanks for that!
  23. Holy shit look at him try so desperately. Jerry... holy shit dude.. you need really look at yourself and see how pathetic you look. There's a simple fact. Valve said the Steam Deck is selling better now than it has ever been since launch. The rest... is your complete and utter butthurt.
  24. You'd be wrong, as usual. The capture is compressed, color isn't quite right because it's a cheap USB capture card. You're probably just used to watching videos of games and not playing them. As I already said in the OP... it looks incredible on the Deck itself. Far better than the image blown up on any OLED. I can confirm that. You can't. Yeah you are. And nah, the Steam Deck's LCD is perfectly fine. It's better than the original Switch easily.. and it's also bigger. I also have a phone with an OLED screen that's better than your Switch OLED, a
