It's crazy to think how a small budget title like Demon's Souls created this massive genre, and has FROM games selling multiple millions on multiple devices. Elden Ring will sell absolute tons on PC and PS. Probably 6M in the first year I think. It's got almost the entire year.. could do even more than that. Oh for sure. There is a very sizable chunk of people who will buy multiple versions of games for higher gfx, or performance or whatever. People have been doing it between consoles and PC for ages. In those instances though it was at least understandable that you'd have to pay for the game again. Now, it's pretty sad though... because the upgrades are happening in the very same ecosystem and they're still being charged extra if they want the better version for the next system. The price you pay for upgrading... apparently. Imagine if developers released a PC version

You buy a game to play the game... many don't give a shit about visuals past a point. And the fact that on PC, your games are forward compatible with any upgrades you do in the future, means that you'll have the best version to scale with future hardware.

Yep. You're still correct anyway though. Xbox One X had HDR which PC didn't have. Xbox One X had a really good version of that game. Nixxes handled the Xbox One X, PC, and PS4 PRO versions, while Crystal Dynamics created the original Xbox One version .. and now they're a part of Sony. Sony grabbing Nixxes was a genius move, that team does amazing work on all platforms. PC conversions, and inter-generational console conversions, upgrades... they can do it all. They're one of the best port studios in the business.

UPDATE 30/8/17 10:10am: We've updated one of the comparison images below with fresh PS4 Pro and PC shots that replicate an additional texture layer found in Square-Enix's Xbox One X press shot, representing an injured Lara. We couldn't replicate this look within the cutscene, but thankfully Digital Foundry readers came forward to help get better matching shots. The key takeaway remains the same though - Xbox One X is clearly running with higher quality art than PS4 Pro, but there are some curious differences with the maxed-out PC version.

And Windows 11 is essentially the exact same OS... with a new updated look and some added functionality. LMAO these clowns being all concerned and shit about their info... that MS and Google, and Apple, and every other fucking company have a sell to each other anyway... Windows 11 has been solid.. and I think it will be a pretty seamless transition for most people. And it updates SO fast now compared to how Win10 did in the early days.
