  1. Because it seems like they don't want to take the full burden on selling hardware anymore, but want to have hardware out there for others to sell. They want licensed Xbox products out there to support what Gamepass subs they have. And no, in no way would an Xbox that plays PC games, give people more to complain about. Xbox has nothing to lose anymore. Their strengths are their own windows PC ecosystem. Just make them a hybrid at this point like Nintendo did with their failure products (consoles) and their successful products (handhelds)... But this is clearly referr
  2. Of course it's a "we'll see". MS will find some way to fuck it up. Though it's important to note that if they did this, the number of units they sell wouldn't be as imperative as they'd likely be making a bit of money on each one, and their games would still be coming to PS and Nintendo regardless. This type of console/handheld would 100% a transitional device to get out of the traditional console business altogether. They need to lean into their strengths.. make Windows better for gaming, and just sell their games on everything.
  3. Just makes sense that anything that was MP before, either stays that way, or becomes that way now. Anything else first party should either be day and date to maximize sales and marketing, or at most a 6 month delay after Xbox and PC versions. There's no reason to fuck around anymore.. their console isn't going to be gaining any traction now. Just make that money off of game sales.
  4. You know exactly why nobody bought them... they were running Linux and had no game compatibility support... not to mention Steam OS was "big picture mode" back then..lmao. Times have changed greatly since then and Linux, as well as proton are real contenders now.. and SteamOS is about as console-like as you can get from a PC at this point and it keeps getting better. Microsoft with Windows could EASILY disrupt this market, IF MS makes a Windows gaming shell that's very nicely tailored to a console like experience. Especially if it plays Xbox and PC games.
  5. I didn't run into any invisible walls because it was extremely obvious where you could and couldn't walk IMO.. but I agree with a lot of what you say @-GD-X. I'd give it an 8/10 overall.. mostly because of the cinematic presentation of it.. and simply because I love taking screenshots and this game has an awesome photo mode. I put 10 hours into the game, and a couple of those hours are definitely just in the photo mode. But yea, the story is nothing special, puzzles could have been more and were barely an obstacle.. and that's kind of what annoys me and leaves me disappointed in
  6. So basically like the Steam Machine lol.. Except Windows is obviously in a far better position than Linux was back when Valve tried the Steam Machine haha. Sounds like they're doing what I said they should just do and offer people a lower priced Xbox branded small form factor PC and get the fuck out of the dedicated console business. Xbox as a traditional console is done.
  7. It has the pixel density of 1440p... and watch DF's video on it.. the game has tons of filmic and post processing effects which keep the image quality soft even if you throw super high resolutions at it. It would honestly be wasted power on the console versions to be rendering at native 4K or even 1800p.
  8. @Goukosan Actual game comes pretty damn close to that trailer
  9. I'll take a Lost Odyssey/Blue Dragon remaster any day, since they aren't currently on PC. But not getting my hopes up.
  10. For sure. I like how you had to hold on in this one. But just thinking technically about it.. water is a suuuuper hard thing to make look good, let alone great, in games. It's fine when it's just a stream flowing, or a relatively still pool of water, but making big crashing waves, and animating that... it almost never looks right. And don't get me wrong, there's clearly times in this game where the water rendering isn't really great. Like at the beginning during the boat sequence.. there's clipping through objects and other issues which make it super obvious by how relatively i
  11. There's a section towards the end which is just insanely impressive technically. The amount of shit going on and effects and just pure visual quality.. it's almost unbelievable.
  12. It's honestly super impressive how the game seamlessly switches scenes, jumping from one location to another and all the visual effects. Crazy stuff.
  13. Which one was it? (spoiler tag it) And yea man.. this game runs great on PC. It's using Unreal Engine 5.3.2.0, so this isn't even UE 5.4, which has all of the major performance improvements. Future UE games are going to look insane
  14. You're a dipshit.. and all you do is hide behind calling people what they aren't
  15. LMFAO retard.. nobody said this was the event where they'd announce day 1 PC versions... The meeting where they will talk about Playstation's strategy going forward will be on May 30th... and even then nobody said this would be where they announce day and date.. But what you WILL find... is them pushing further "beyond the boundaries" of Playstation consoles Going to bookmark this thread
  16. I really like the game. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed that they didn't take this opportunity to change the game up more from the first one and give it more gameplay and better combat.. but it's clear they didn't have any of that in mind and they just made it as straight forward as HB1 was. That's not to say that these types of experiences don't have their place... it's a nice change of pace... but still, I wanted more for this franchise. But yea, the visuals are just insane. There's a few moments where I was extremely impressed beyond even what I expected. Some m
