  1. Lmao what a low effort for those ports. Sheep really did get nothing this year
  2. Because of die space... These things are already completely gigantic. FP64 is useless for games.. and the 3090 is a gaming card.
  3. Nvidia is being kinda dumb with how they are displaying the amount of CUDA cores there are. It's really half the cores. Each core can perform 2 FP32 operations per clock cycle... but there's likely nothing built yet to really take advantage of that. So when comparing performance it's really ~15TF's of performance compared to the 2080's 10TF's. I remember reading rumors that were saying new benchmarks were going to have to be made to really test Ampere's performance. Benchmarks like Timespy Extreme weren't properly stressing the GPU. Maybe there's some truth to that?
  4. That's because "Teraflop" is a theoretical performance metric..... There's cases where the 3080 performs as well as 2x 2080.

    LAG

Yea. You know shit is laggy when Jerry-go-round threads have half the pages they'd normally have. We just can't respond fast enough anymore

    LAG

Yep. I kinda mentioned this last week. This site is slow as hell. Takes seconds to load, posting sometimes shows "saving" for a few seconds... It's laggy.
  7. I thought you were going to say "Shiny Polish Trash"
  8. Indeed lol. The funny thing is that I know for a fact Nvidia will have a 3080ti coming. There's still a $999 priced card to be had. It will probably be the best deal as well, within 15% of the 3090 and likely 16GB of RAM, which would probably be perfect.. They'll have that card (those cards) to compete with AMD if they happen to be quite competitive. but whatever.. 24GB of RAM and 8K DLSS sounds nice.
  9. No.. this is DLSS2...the one that does that is DLSS²
  10. It does indeed look much better. DLSS2 support also almost completely negates the performance impact as well
  11. Anything that helps you not have to walk in to a Walmart is a plus in my eyes.
  12. Yep, that's awesome stuff. Nvidia have really turned the perception around. The tech deserves the praise it's now getting. The best thing is that now that people are convinced, more games will support it... and more funds and R&D will go into improving it even more. It started out as ONE person working on it and researching it.. but now the team has grown considerably. There'll be more features coming you can bet. I really don't know how AMD will compete against it. Nvidia can do this because they own one of the top 10 super computers in the w
  13. Yea, you'd definitely want to have exhaust fans on the top if not using an AIO. But an AIO would be best anyway. As long as the exhaust is sufficient, I don't think it would drastically change the temperature. It's when that air gets trapped inside the case in dead pockets that it could start to affect overall temps. It's not like ALL the cool intake air is going just into the GPU lol.
  14. Man, watching the Digital Foundry video... the 3080 is already so much more faster than the 2080ti.. Jesus I want to see where the 3090 lands. Can't wait for the 24th
  15. Nvidia also confirmed that RTX I/O will work on all RTX cards, meaning Turing and Ampere. Good shit.
  16. PC's do more.. they are more versatile, it gets Xbox and now PS games... it can emulate Nintendo's games... It's like 30 consoles in one.... It's better in every respect
  17. Could have sworn I made this exact thread yesterday lol
  18. It's always worked for me. Nvidia cards hold their value well. But that remains to be seen this time around until AMD shows their cards.
  19. DID I NOT FUCKING TELL YOU YOUR 750w PSU WOULD BE FINE FOR THE CARD YOU WERE GOING TO BUY? Yes... I did.
  20. Yea I am. I'm an enthusiast and building PCs is my hobby though and I have an entirely separate income (translating documents) which supports it.
  21. It's accurate. Look at the official specs Jehurey posted. More powerful than I even imagined. It has more shader cores per SM.
  22. Eh those youtube guys didn't predict anything. We all knew this was coming. We knew directstorage was a thing and that the GPU would have direct access from storage to VRAM. Just really didn't know what they would call it. 14GB/s though.. that's fast.
