The only people who weren't taken by surprise by Larian's game being a AAA hit were PC players. It also wasn't a surprise to me that cows, coming off Final Fantasy 16, needed a game they could latch onto to pit against Starfield... and luckily for them, Microsoft's policies handed an exclusive window to them.. and thus the hype fully went onto BG3.

To be fair, I expected Microsoft to actually release some big games in the 3 years the console has been on the market growing GamePass... They've failed horribly and I've admitted that.. and GamePass has stagnated as a result. I blame it on Microsoft's ineptitude.. not necessarily the model itself.
