  1. PC's already have bandwidth that exceeds 2GB/s.. and have for a while. PCIe3.0 x4 provides over 3GB/s with NVMe drives and is nothing new. PCIe4.0 is out now on AMD motherboards and provides double that bandwidth... You're not getting over 5GB/s with Series X. So the capability is already there.. but for the high end games, PC gamers will absolutely need to upgrade their SSDs to an NVMe drive. That much is certain.
  2. Not sure why idiots expect ultra-wide support in everything... especially games that were built taking a single systems design into consideration. Most games are designed with a 16:9 viewport in mind.. especially games where you're searching around for items in environments. It shouldn't be surprising at this point. Those Hardware Unboxed guys are idiots at times. The FPS is capped at 60, but you can easily disable it in the ini file. Not sure why it's not an option in the game. It might introduce weird behavior at fps higher than 60? I did and never noticed any issues so far
  3. You better hope they don't.. shit won't run on your garbage PC

  5. 2019 and split controllers AzaHBR
  6. AMD is expected to make some announcements at the event as well. Possibly announcing and detailing their higher end RDNA2 GPUs.. which would likely involve revealing secrets about their RT implementation and graphics architecture features which could give us big insights into the next gen consoles. Maybe Sony will divulge some stuff before then.. or maybe we'll hear nothing about PS5... but it's clear that AMD wants to start talking about this stuff. I remember reading somewhere (can't remember where atm) that Phil Spencer was possibly going to be at AMD's event again to talk mor
  7. Hyper Light Drifter should be next.. Damn... they've been giving some of the highest quality indie games recently. Good shit Epic
  8. Such a beautiful game. It basically takes the beauty of Journey, combined with the platforming of Braid. You control your character through levels controlling the flow of time which alters the environment. You navigate your character through the environments while putting together the story. There's memory shards and things like that hidden which give you a bit more insight and encourage exploration, although if I'm honest the character moves a bit too slowly to warrant really exploring the environments. They're not huge or anything, it's a mostly linear game as you can imagine. Not a cha

  15. Grab'em foos Celeste tomorrow Fitting game for this time of year
  16. Well yeah... Dynamite is posting the sequential read speeds of those drives.. but everyone knows that that is almost meaningless. The random reads are what's important.. and they don't come close to that sustained. You also have to think about the CPU in the consoles which is limited in the current gen. They're only so fast at decompression.
  17. I know what the drives are too.... and they 100% do NOT sustain those transfer rates... lmao I have 7200RPM HDDs which don't even reach those speeds.. 5400RPM... not a chance in hell.
  18. No... they aren't. They're ~40MB/s... Digital Foundry confirmed this back when the Xbox One X launched and repeated it in their new Series X article. https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2019-xbox-series-x-reveal-analysis And WindowsCentral heard similar 2GB/s for Series X https://www.windowscentral.com/xbox-series-x And I'm getting 5GB/s from my own personal prediction of what I think Sony is going for.
