No it wouldn't. H2 reveal would make tons of people buy HZD on PC. People would expect H2 to come at some point but not for much later. If you look at the rumor it says HZD PC would be released in February... that's around the time that Sony is expected to unveil the PS5. Maybe that's the plan. Have PS fans excited for the next gen game, and get PC fans excited about the current gen game. Maximize sales and franchise potential.

Maybe they feel that they're leaving too much money on the table and there's lots of money to be made by supporting the PC in a way that wont directly affect their console business. I wonder if Sony is concerned that MS is seemingly willing to buy customers (and build install base) for this gen leading into next gen? Regardless of how you put it... An Xbox console with full backwards compat, Gamepass for $1 or less, and with Halo Infinite and potentially other new games as well is a tempting offer. Especially if MS can manages to show people next year that they are bringing new games and IP to Xbox.

I've talked about VRS before. Next gen consoles should also have it and it will help developers maximize performance of every frame... in some cases drastically improving performance with little to no perceptible visual loss. Right now this is only available on Nvidia RTX Turing GPUs, but AMD's next gen GPUs and consoles should feature support for it. This just goes to show you that raw TF numbers are completely meaningless even when judging how much of a jump these new consoles will be from the previous ones.
