It's definitely an exceptional situation. Andrew House and Cerny both essentially offered him the keys to the kingdom and he could choose whichever engine he wanted. It's interesting because the other studios likely didn't have much say in the matter when it came down to it. It's Sony's property, and they can do what they want with it. But that just goes to show you the relationship Kojima himself has with the heads of Playstation. I think Andrew told the story about how they lost the MGS2 source code/engine at an E3 event and had to break the news to Kojima that they had lost

This was the best trailer yet for the game. Looks absolutely incredible visually. All the characters look awesome. Jury is still out on the actual gameplay itself though... Hopefully it's not as boring as fuck to play as it is to watch.
