I said this a long time ago now. Consoles will become unnecessary. They have another generation left.. maybe 2. Then it's done. I said that developers will develop ONE version of their games.. the PC version.. and then put it on all these gaming services. There's no thinking about it... it will be impressive. Regardless of how close they can approximate lighting... it will never actually ACT like real lighting.. unless they do this. Seeing a still shot, or a static light wont look much more impressive on the surface... but when in motion, and when it physically and accurately simulates the lighting and shadow on the environment dynamically and acts as it should... it's fucking impressive as hell.
