damn, the console versions were so busted EA and dice were hiding review copies from sites.

They thought they could fool console gamers for a solid week and we'd all rush out and get the game day 1 only to be served with a broken, unplayable stinker.

worst developer of all time and BF is officially dead after a slew of stinkers (Hardline, BF1, V, and now 2042 all trash). This is the end for BF.

yep just constant bad news from this game. and to think, they staggered the launch of the broken components (MP, SP) had a whole year + of extra dev time, and are at a 7-year development cycle.

all for a game that looks indistinguishable from halo 5.

this is objectively one of the worst development teams in the industry when taking their size and resources into account.

Series S being 'at least' 50/50 with Series X when S's have been know to rot on shelves lead me to believe that series X is being produced in extremely small numbers.

realistically, the graphically intensive xbox is a niche product and the majority of the 6 or 7 million Series consoles are gimped 1080p machines.

well we now have our answer. the majority of Xbox Series customers are playing on series S's - they're 1080p 30fps digital only crud gamers. of course devs don't bother to optimize.

yes that's right, series S is 50/50 with X - and the console has sold a total of 6 or 7 million units.

playStation 5 has sold a total of 15 million units where every console is equal and there is no gimped model.

PS5 is the king of graphics.

something is fundamentally wrong with the Series X hardware much like the Xbox One X. The One X got bested by PS4 Pro routinely remember. may just be another case of a dev snubbing optimization on the low selling Xbox version (not worth the effort) as well.

yep i'm expecting very low scores for this game. with the Xbox pity out of the way with forza sport 5, reviewers can really hammer this game without claims of bias being thrown at them.

and yeah, RR7 on PS3 is a technical marvel. 1080p 60fps launch game, on PS3 where achieving those goals were impossible. that game still holds up today and i play it regularly.

Still my favorite racing franchise ever.

in winter 2004 i begged my mom for a PSP for christmas and got this game with it. PSP was only out in Japan at that time so we imported it.

needless to say i was the coolest cat in junior high when i came to school with a PSP before it even released in the western world. and this was 2004.

Ridge Racer PSP was the only game i had for the system for months and i played the shit out of it. As far as a handheld goes it was mindblowing. it's hard to describe coming off gameboy games and then going to PSP back then. RR looked so damn good.

Still one of my fondest gaming memories.
