I still don't believe Halo Infinite cost $500 million. No way.

    Multiple sources back this up:

According to German website Xbox Dynasty, Halo Infinite's development budget is over $500 million, and that is for development costs alone. This would make Halo Infinite the most expensive video game project ever produced

Game producer Ralf Adam, has heard some interesting figures at the GDC 2019 and reported about it in a podcast by German outlet Xbox Dynasty.

"I heard the game with the by far most expensive budget that's in development right now is Halo. It has a development budget that's a multiple of Red Dead Redemption 2," he said

In a recent YouTube video, Brad Sams, VP and general manager at Stardock who also has close ties with Microsoft sources, says that Halo Infinite's budget could have commanded hundreds of millions.

"For hundreds of millions of dollars dumped into this thing...it's frustrating from a Halo fan's perspective," Sams said after discussing key points of Infinite's mis-steps.

Thats still really good for a game like this. They prob got underpaid tho. Doubt they were expecting these reviews or sales.

Sub services are also exposure tho.

Yeah doubt they anticipated this reception for the game. The sub deals aren't anything amazing for smaller games apparently, mostly just recouping dev costs. Weird that they decided on both cause I assume the strategy would be to be a hit and get exposure from one of them to try and get sales on the other platforms.

Happy to hear it's still doing very well though, well deserved

  3. I guess tbf even the article it's knows that number is bs:

It’s unclear as of yet how much Starfield will cost in total with all other parameters combined, but speculation says that the final figure should be somewhere around $300-400 million, considering the stature of the title at hand and the amount of time it’s been under development. Moreover, if the 500-member development team part is correct, costs are certain to be quite higher than $200 million.

The article says the number doesn't include marketing costs so it could be much higher.

While some argue that this figure is still low for an IP that’s been in development for roughly 7 years, it is expected that the amount is only covering development costs while leaving out other metrics, such as marketing.

yeah, i'd say its leaving out other metrics too.

Halo Infinite was a $500m+ cost game. No way Starfield doesn't approach that number total.

I love the damage control of since they have nothing to show I LOVE THE MYSTERY :rofls:

Its no mystery. You know what you are getting you just dont know when, and niether does Sony apparently ROFL. Be keen on more BLAND cinematic stinkers.

Please do tell us all what we are getting from Bend, Bluepoint, Housemarque, Team Asobi, Team Santa Monica, Media Molecule and London Studio since you seem to know everything.

This is true.  There's still Bluepoint, Bend, and Sucker Punch to hear from.

We know Naughty Dogs next game.. we know Insomniacs next two games..

What else do/don't we know about yet?

So yeah from those first 3, outside of Sucker Punch who is no doubt doing GoT2 (which is going to be huge) the other 2 are most likely heading up new IPs.

Then there is the new San Diego studio which was rumoured to be making that UC spinoff game (we got what seemed to be a glimspe in one of sony sizzle reels). That game was rumoured to be close to completion a while ago, they just need to find a window for it.

There's Team Asobi which has released nothing but absolute bangers and is all the 'variety' the haters cry about yet never play their games lol (

There's Media Molecule who now can finally make an actual bloody game instead of the disaster that was Dreams (but hey, again variety which was totally ignored).

Then there's London Studio which again is rumoured to be making a new IP for PS5.

These are also just the studios I care about, all the GaaS stuff i've left out but theyre all there too on top of this (they were always just an addition not a replacement). We have never before in PlayStation history had so many things to be shown off and such a mystery of the future. I think it's awesome. My least fav PS era in terms of news was easily the DS, TLOU2, Ghost of Tsuhima 3 years in a row. I'd take this over that.

  7. Not knowing what Sony is up to is a big difference than nothing is coming out. They simply haven't spoken about things past this year yet really. There's so much shit out that I don't really care and it's cool to have a bit of a mystery after their PS4 times of having the next 3 years mapped out and just getting new trailers of the same games over and over again.

Sony has multiple first party teams that are very far along projects based on time since last release.
