Astro for PSVR2 should have been the first thing in development and one of the games that was literally driving the technologies they adopted to create the PSVR2.  It absolutely should have been a game to push PSVR2.. but it's quite abundantly clear now that they've given up on it first party-wise.

 

They're simply not going to divert any resources to PSVR2 specific development anymore.  I'd be pissed if I owned that trash  

I hate Sony but honestly, at least they featured VR games in their state of play and promoted the PSVR2 a bit with the VR games catalog coming to PS+. 

I was expecting even LESS VR content... that tell how much faith I have in Sony and PSVR2. They are definitely not going to make games for it.

Flat 2 VR modders have gotten licenses to make flatscreen games VR modes for PSVR2, third party are going to pick up the slack so PSVR2 isn't complete wasteland with no games but it's definitely not coming from Sony. Which is sad.

Astro Bot not being a PSVR2 game is pretty much confirmation that the PSVR2 is on its death bed.  They had no faith in the POS and it shows.

The gameplay was like the first game but with more gimmicks, so this is something they could most likely easily integrate in VR. The fact it's flatscreen only is quite the slap in the face.

This is already a good sign that SquareEnix are learning.  They should absolutely be pushing on Switch/Switch 2 with Dragon Quest especially.  THAT is the platform to push in Japan.  Use Nintendo for marketing, but do full multiplatform releases.  Hit them with the Loto Trilogy on Switch, and then have DQ12 ready sometime within the first year of the Switch 2 launch..  Shit will be crazy in Japan!  

 

I think they have a good chance with these remakes to build up the franchise better in the West.  We need them all on modern platforms.

DS ports of 4-6

New ports of DQ7-9

And 10 needs to come west too with its offline mode.

FF Pixel Remasters were excellent. 

Dragon Quest was always called Dragon Quest in Japan. Toriyama, the Dragonball artist has ALWAYS been the main artist designer of the series. Most of the monster designs comes from the first four games and are typical Toriyama designs you find in Dragon Ball.

Dragon Quest is basically the longest running franchise that has barely ever changed it's formula. And for the better, because that's exactly the reason why it's better than Final Fantasy.

RE Code Veronica is an awesome RE game.. so I'm also glad it's being remade.  It was the one I wanted remade the most after 1-3.  I'm also glad because this will be the first time that it's on PC officially.  It was the only mainline RE game to not come to PC.  

 

 

I liked it on Dreamcast because it was an impressive game at the time but I never been able to get back to it. Not even the improved port on PS3/360.

The enemies have more health at this point so what often happens is you'll start attacking them and then they'll just move onto a different plain and then your attacks start missing, so you have to chase them down again and then as you start attacking they'll once again move and the cycle repeats itself. It just doesn't flow as well as i'd like to compared to if it were completely 2D, or 3D like the newer games.

That's fair. Not an issue if you increase godspeed skill but that is later in the game. 

Best thing about SO2 was never the combat itself.

Nah. While generally true as technology gets better, games that have been made during that generation and are actually worth playing is how you should measure a gen's worth.

PS2 gen > PS3 gen in terms of games selection. This is fact if you think otherwise you have fucking terrible taste. PS2 was an absolute beast at producing masterpieces. Even GC and Xbox had their fair share of great titles despite selling like 20m units worldwide. 

PS4 gen > PS5 gen. At least for now in the same time span. Barely any defining current gen games, extremely slow ass adoption as everything were just basically cross gen games that can run on PS4 base model from 2013. Lmfao.   

But I did like the PS4 more than PS3 in absolutely everything, so sometimes it is true.
