  1. Microsoft and the lemmings made it a running joke and cows made fun of them, naturally. Look how that venture turned out? Crackdown 3 never even got close to realizing the original vision and was watered down significantly. Cows doubled down and rightfully so... because lemmings, including yourself, hyped this shit up like it was something no one else could do... it was "teh powa of teh cloudz ". Turns out not even Microsoft could make it happen. Anyways, Lockhart has been speculated to be a console/cloud hybrid since we first heard about it, but with all of the rumors floating aro
  2. Aza's right, Lockhart has been speculated to be a console/cloud hybrid since we first found out it was going to be weaker. No one is against the idea of having workloads offloaded to the cloud, but lemmings made it a joke when it was being introduced into Crackdown 3 and Microsoft touting the technology as some viable solution during the time period.
  3. You should see the lemmings on ResetEra twisting Brad Sams's comment around about Xbox Anaconda and now suddenly its a $699 console with 24 TFLOPs. I can't imagine what kind of dumb fuckery they'll come up with by Friday.
  4. Microsoft is doing a few API calls and now the lemmings think Sony/Nintendo are integrating with Microsoft and it's "all apart of teh plan".
  5. I don't think so. Seems like a waste of resources especially since the APU isn't going to get any smaller.
  6. I wonder if Sony is actually investing in lowering the footprint of the PS4 or PS4 Pro. Doesn't seem likely since the PS4 Slim is already really small.
  7. Amazon is also in Seattle which is probably where a bunch of physical sales come from.
  8. I haven't tried Remote Play in a while, but from my experience it was perfectly fine. Better than PlayStation Now in terms of quality and latency. I think you need a better solution for your local network more than anything.
  9. Yeah, it is extremely low and Sony low balled it with only a 1000mAh battery; however, I'd rather have a rechargeable battery than using AAs. It would be nice if Sony simplified the DualShock's design in a way to allow users to easily upgrade the internal battery.
  10. It's dependent on the brightness of the LED really. If you fully dim the LED I'd say the controller could probably last around 8-10 hours. When the PS4 launched you couldn't do that and you'd be lucky to get 6 hours out of it.
  11. This whole Microsoft and Sony partnership memorandum of understanding is being blown out of proportion, and obviously some are trying to turn it into ammunition for fanboy wars. From what we know, the facts, there's currently no partnership formed nor is there a deal pending or even written up. This whole thing is in an exploration stage. The whole thing about PlayStation employees being "stunned" or "surprised", etc. is hyperbole at its finest. It was reported by one person (Yuji Nakamura) and that particular reporter has been known to exaggerate. If PlayStation's employees were blindsided by
  12. Now this is a lot more appealing than splitting a controller in two that wasn't designed for it. A fingerprint sensor would actually be really nice for security, purchasing or profiling users with restrictions. That's a cool idea.
  13. This is definitely not going to happen. This isn't about being similar to Xbox nor is Xbox even relevant for DualShock's design. The symmetrical design of DualShock is preferred by many and is what identifies as a PlayStation controller... just like how Sony isn't going to change the cross, square, triangle and circle for A, B, X and Y.
  14. What other ideas do you have besides a controller that can be split? I thought the touchpad for DualShock 4 was a great addition that was quickly forgotten and completely under utilized by Sony. Days Gone actually has a good implementation for it.
  15. With the next generation PlayStation already being confirmed to support PlayStation VR right off the bat it's doubtful.
  16. I'm leaning towards $499 myself. Reason being it's 7nm, GDDR6/HBM2, DDR4 for the OS, and the possibility of a custom storage solution (PlayStation only) next to an NVMe SSD (Both PlayStation and Xbox). Not to mention we don't really know what the next DualShock or Xbox controller will entail.
  17. That's the number that's been going around a lot lately. So if we take Navi's 1.25x IPC increase we're looking at ~11.3 TFLOPs compared to Vega.
  18. They're going to co-exist next generation and the foreseeable future. Hardware isn't going away anytime soon.
  19. https://wccftech.com/playstation-5-beefier-hardware-could-help-indies/ I think we can put away the Gonzalo rumor of 1.8GHz clock speed.
  20. So many retarded comments in this thread now.
