Even if 7/10 turns out to be too harsh for Starfield, it's still a terrible spot to be in for Xbox. They've got 6-8 games well into development that just don't look great. I don't think Hellblade, Avowed, Perfect Dark, and Fable is the lineup you want to go up against Playstation. They really need some surprise announcements that aren't in the distant future. A new project from Id, a solid return for Gears, an ambitious new IP from Double Fine. Stuff that will change the whole conversation about their 1st party plan.

Lol nobody's playing it. I'll say it feels good to play on PC. My laptop 3060 with gsync is very smooth. All the gameplay elements are a step up for Bethesda. There's a lot of shooting and it's generally good. Early ship combat seems basic but still exciting. By far the worst part of the game is planetary navigation and generally too many load screens. If you're leaving a planet, you'll have to load to the grounded ship, load to take off, load to get close to the next destination, load to actually land/dock, load again to step off the ship into "real" gameplay. PS5 isn't in a drought of great first party games. If you're mad that they're mostly also on PS4, I can sort of get it. But all Sony games are at the top of the craft. Last of Us Pt 2 isn't even "next-gen", but running it on the Pro/PS5 is still more advanced than almost any other game you can play. If PS4 held back Forbidden West technically, the PS5 game is still arguably the one to beat right now in AAA. Starfield is at least a year late to the party.

My point is Insomniac has delivered bangers for Sony before and since Sony bought them. MS bought WRPG teams, but they haven't delivered for Xbox yet.
