I doubt anyone is truly playing a righteous unedited path. I try to go with the flow a lot, but I still have like 10 deep backup plan saves. Otherwise you could force yourself into a slog, maybe unwinnable battle.

I'm playing as Karlach main and don't regret it at all. As far as early tips, get comfortable with the Split/Group options on the L2 menu (and play with a controller btw). Lots of times you'll want to send 1 character to scout ahead, because the dumb group AI will wonder into traps and shit. Also if a character is drawn into combat, you can usually switch to the others and position them to surprise the enemy. Positioning at the start of combat is really important in general.

I'm expecting better than PS3, worse than PS4. I've said exactly what I expect before: Switch got compromised "impossible ports" like Witcher 3 at 540p with custom settings below PC's lowest. Switch 2 will get comparable games running 720p at actual PC medium. It's wild to think Nintendo would release a system with the form factor and battery life of a Steam Deck. Any "efficiency gains" (actually irrelevant because Switch uses mobile architecture) would go to shrinking the device and extending the battery, not boosting performance. We'll probably get that from Valve in a Deck revis

The backlog is infinite. It's why Gamepass is just a joke to me. I'm playing BG3 right now, and it currently feels like I'll be playing it forever. Since finishing Ragnarok, I struggled to put any game over Rocket League. I wanted to play Divinity or Weird West or Death Loop or 100 other games, but Rocket League was always there. Baldurs Gate is so good I don't even think about anything else.

I agree this is true (indisputably true post-n64), and it's still not close that PS2 had the better library. 3 GTAs in one generation is almost enough on its own and those aren't even my favorite PS2 games.

Switch was "3-4 times more powerful" than PS3 but never got a game that looks in the same generation as Uncharted 2, God of War 3, GTAV, MGS4, Killzone 2, The Last of Us, etc. Ok. Nobody could figure out how to tap that power.

There's no way Nintendo will match steam deck performance. Steam Deck is the best proof Switch 2 won't be a powerhouse. The sacrifices are unacceptable for a kid console.

Docked gets 20% up clock at best. It doesn't fundamentally change what kinds of games can run on the system.
