  1. Recent improvements to the video-out have dramatically improved SteamOS as a console option. There used to be scaling issues, and sometimes incompatible resolution errors going between the built-in display and a 4k tv. Now it'll automatically do FSR scaling to whatever is the native resolution of the display. They should expose more resolution choices for performance options, but the current version delivers a good plug-and-play experience. Performance navigating menus has improved a ton too. While it's not as slick as Android's 90fps animations, it is a generation ahead of the pre
  2. They still have the codebase from 5 Bungie Halos. Content is their job.
  3. I swear 343 are just a random collection of MS employees Bill Gates forces to make Halo games. They don't want to make them, they're not good at making them, but The Business requires it. Please let this franchise die, so these poor coders can be free.
  4. It would be fun to get into a coop or squad party game on Steam. I haven't used voice chat on Steam Deck yet.
  5. this sucks, but you should know better than to buy movies on playstation store.
  6. it's surprising we never got PS2-era Starship Troopers FPS from a D-tier developer that completely misses the point of the movie.
  7. Cows are going to have to accept that Sony regularly publishes on PC. Not only did they buy Nixxes, they've developed an exclusive relationship with Aspyr on The Old Republic. It's taking time to port games like Days Gone and Horizon which weren't developed with a PC port planned. But future PS games will assume a PC version from jump. The lag time between PS and PC releases will get shorter until they are day and date. This is nothing to fear because Playstation is the best platform for mainstream gaming. It trounces every PC gaming front-end other than Steam. Have some self-respect Cows.
  8. GoW 2018 created a new template for open world gaming. Sony Santa Monica is elite tier. Even FROM admits Sony/Bluepoint outdid their own work on Demon's Souls, and cannot compete.
  9. I'm down for a Robocop game, IF the developers have actually seen Robocop. It's an anticapitalist satire, where the suits are the bad guys. And it's supposed to be fucking funny. The trailer doesn't show enough of that to convince me they saw it. Also this team hasn't done anything good, and they announced a Terminator game the same day.
  10. They've been saving their announcements for this moment.
  11. I'd check this out on steam deck if they fix anticheat.
  12. Whatever this shits boring, PlayStation has gotg locked up THIS year. By the time Seinfield comes out, PlayStation will have some new mindblowing shit to gawk at.
  13. Just the clash between Bethesda and Activision middle management, jockeying for position within MGS is going to be legendary
  14. Don't mind the delay. I want to believe in this game.
  15. The sad thing is MS only bought Actiblizzard to get control over Call of Duty. They have 0 interest in Activision's back catalog and barely care about Blizzard's whole operation. Watch for Blizzard to go independent like Bungie. Might take 3 years after the acquisition but they won't stick around. MS doesn't know what to do with a developer who makes more than one franchise.
  16. We're all laughing *at* Xbox for having no games.
  17. Greatness is guaranteed. Love a publisher who can release bangers on schedule.
  18. The only Xbox I have good memories of is the original. It was a great moment for PC devs to get into console development (also kinda ended PCs golden era), and the hacking/modding scene was legendary. Each console since has gotten worse and at this point we'd be better off if MS got out of the console game. You know it's bad when your best exclusive is a racing game.
  19. Yeah, Isometric 3D is a great perspective for devs to craft the look of their game. Stuff like Killzone Liberation really popped on the PSP, and The Ascent practically passes as next-gen, despite being a mid-budget indie game. Also shoutout to fixed-camera 3D games like God of War. Editorial control of the camera is a major storytelling tool ignored by too many devs.
  20. Not saying it looks like a bad game, but it definitely doesn't look "next-gen".
