Nobody has ever claimed the auction was malicious. The auction was for charity so LMG wouldn't have seen a cent from it anyway. The issue of malice was concerning the handling of Billet Labs afterwards and what looked like LMG ghosting Billet Labs when they brought up that LMG had wronged them. LMG has an email from the day this all want down asking Billet Labs to send them an invoice, so I think any questions of malice towards Billet Labs can be closed. LMG is just deeply dysfunctional...though I've hit reply instead of reply all to work emails often enough to feel them on that.

You don't have to do it and Linus literally tried to cover it up by bullshiting about having an agreement in place to pay the Billet Labs guys. GN was completely in the right not to go to LTT first and Linus showed exactly why.
