She's probably the hardest boss until you reach Grendel and the one that hides behind its minions powering himself up and annihilating your party. When you get to Tokyo don't bother exploring the domain in the northwest from the tower you'll get raped and stripped of your pride.

Whatever you do, don't play The Answer when you beat the game. Enjoy it, one of the best games ever made

Nah, the key is to talk to demons and just keep talking until they run away or join you. It's kind of a gamble but you get a LOT of exp (around 5x to 10x more)and items by doing that as opposed to only battling them and finishing them off multiple times. I also just found out that lvl 70 boss I ran away from is pathetically weak and I killed him in one turn

You can unlock side quests from talking to demons mid battle and they have a whole different story to it too, which is pretty cool.

Found out in the world map you can skip most battles by waiting for a demon to disappear for a few seconds.

Did you just reach Tokyo? You might have to play it for a few more hours, it's mostly searching for terminals and looking for clues, while doing a bit of challenge quests but it hasn't gotten crazy or anything yet it's still way, way better then the beginning. Travelling around the map can get pretty annoying sometimes since enemies are blocking some paths and run at you too fast so you can't really escape, makes backtracking really annoying, but a lot of walkable areas are nicely detailed and look great overall. Demon fusing is kind of pointless since you can just recruit them, only special demons are worth it but the levels are too far apart. Also some dungeons have very weak enemies then when you reach the boss they're like 30-40 levels higher then you expect to get raped a lot fucking devilish shit right there

 

SMT IV is pretty obnoxious with wiping your party out if the enemy gets the initiative and the way monsters randomly spawn around you. I don't know if I want to play this much longer.

Damn all this time I thought that transitioning to different places were only via menus but there's an actual walkable world map and full areas to explore and they're pretty damn well made

About ~7 hrs in so far in SMT4, holy shit it's getting awesome Two fucking hard boss fights in a row, damn I barely made it out alive.

No prob It should be interesting to hear your thoughts on this since it's a pretty tough game lol

Oh you'll love the hell out of it then, it's so much fun. Demon fusing is a lot easier now too, and there's a recommended fusion option now and special demons that require specific ones. When you successfully recruit a demon it's so rewarding and satisfying.

 

The only that sucks is that killing bosses barely gives you any exp

Indeed, but I think you'll be disappointed with the characters and story for the first couple of hours it's nothing interesting nor captivating. The core game itself is awesome though.

Sort of. Your party consists of you and 3 other demons you've recruited and you can switch them out whenever you want. Also if the main character dies you can still continue fighting. You gain abilities from your demons and by leveling up you choose what stats you want to upgrade and also get 10 points to unlock apps to use (like scanning, adding skill slots, bartering, etc.) Each battle is quick though, and there's a new twist called press turn. If you land a critical hit or exploit an enemies weakness you get an extra turn and you're also powered up, you can also skip one demon's attack to switch to another demons attack. The amor you buy increases your health/MP, changes your attributes strengths and weaknesses, increases stats, etc.

 

SMT4 is pretty godly so far Don't bother with it if you're expecting Persona lol

well what do you like about it? i gave persona a chance. i'd like to give this one too. 

 

For one it's fucking hard lol. The characters in the beginning didn't seem that interesting but that's mostly because the game starts off in like the year 1492 and not present day like Persona so there's a bit of cliche in the characters, but they're pretty unique for the most part just not as interesting nor captivating as one would expect. I'm not very far (about 4 hrs in) but the story seems alright too, it's pretty serious shit with tons of mysteries lol. The demon conversation system in midbattle is awesome though, it's a big gamble overall but very rewarding. Eaceh demon you face has a competely different personality and dialogue, some are assholes while some are funny as hell, like one demon wanted something sweet to eat so I gave him liquor and he got drunk so he joined my party The dungeon design is very good too, very atmospheric and the graphics are great too. I'll give a better opinion of it once I'm further in.

 

And damn the screenshots for this game look absolutely terrible, it looks way better on the 3DS.

I may be exaggerating, it's easier then Strange Journey. Also you can play in easy mode and just enjoy the game throughout.

It's difficult, expect to die a lot. At least you can save anywhere. I thought I could dominate any game when I finished Devil Survivor and the Souls games, this game just raised the bar.

Man the demons are just a bunch of assholes, you recruit them mid battle by asking them to join you. But they want something from you first, like this one demon asked me that it wanted my last medicine, I gave it. Then it asked for half my money, I have it to him but still doesn't join me yet. Asks for a bite of my health, so I give it. Then asks me for my MP, so I gave it. Then he called me a retard and killed me ;(

Finished DKCR on 3DS, one of the best 2D platformers, only behind super meat boy though it was hard as fuck.

If you're human then you will get invaded by monsters lol. Stay dead or lose your Internet connection if you don't want to be invaded, but yeah it sucks that there are a lot of cheaters.
