4 years late, but better late than never.

Yeah, I watched some vids. I think the souls series is about as challenging as I’d like a game to be.

There was definitely a spike in difficulty from Demon’s to Dark. But yeah, they weren’t as punishing as I thought they would be. Aside from a few cheap hits, the games were very fair. I died a lot, but because of my mistakes. I think getting to the bosses was harder than actually fighting them lol. But yeah, I’m proof that if I can beat those games, anyone can. Sekiro is too much sword play for me. One thing I love about the Souls games is that you can use many different styles of attack (melee, sorcery, pyromancy, etc).

Ohhh it’s getting pretty good (ep 5). I feel like the pacing is better this season.

Ps5…home of Demon’s Souls Remake

Finished the campaign (didn’t do dlc) for Dark Souls. Gwyn was tough, since I suck at parries. Still, I was able to mostly use magic and dodge (lots of fucking dodging lol). It took like 12 tries. I kept getting close and bam..he’d fuck me up. Anyhow, incredible game! I see why some consider it the best (or one of the best). Even with its hiccups (looking at you wonky camera), the game is a 10 imo. This was a fun Demon Soul/Dark Soul marathon. I need a long (or at least a few weeks) break before I play the sequels lol. edit: my favorite fight was ornstein and smough. Neat concept.

Oh, I did both jumps (left side and center). I died twice just figuring out what to do lol. Then a few more from those sweeping attacks that cockblocked my center jump. I found the fight more rewarding than Nito (just beat that one). I believe I’m now ready to face the final boss. I would do the DLC, but fuck it lol. I’ll get around to it another time. I want to see how the base game rates (so far, this may be one of the few 10’s I’ve played).

While I know the Bed of Chaos is a mostly disliked/hated battle, I kind of dug the puzzle-aspect of it, even if it meant me dying like 6 times lol.

I definitely agree that the pacing, and overall development of arcs/world building, should be a lot slower.

Gonna start tonight, hopefully. Season 1 was a lot of fun.

If I had it my way, the first TLOU game would have been broken into 2 or 3 seasons, with each episode greatly expanding on its world building. I also would have liked many new arcs that weren’t in the title. However, due to the “hit or miss” reception, when it comes to video game adaptations, I get why things are moving at a faster rate, due to fear of cancellation. I feel like the creators are nailing their vision, even if it’s “safe”… A lot of credit goes to the Bella and Pedro. Man, they have really sold me on their dynamic.

I beat Seath the Scaleless and Four King’s. They were definitely harder, but their respective areas were a bitch lol. But a bitch I can respect lol. As much as I was throwing F bombs, I appreciate how each level forces me to adapt my play stye to it….or basically die. And the Crystal Cave…man…that was pretty cool. Much better than Duke’s archives. The Souls fatigue is starting to kick in, even with 1’s stellar world design, diverse challenges and feeling of accomplishment. I don’t see myself playing 3 (I heard 2 is terrible) for quite some time.

This could have been the ending and I would be ok with that that boss fight was pretty intense.
