i can't wait to get home and play more. i finished the area. it was a total blast. i love how it's a metroidvania game, but the level design does an excellent job pointing you in the right direction, without it being overly obvious.

Yup! HDR and the downsampled 6K. Very pretty! But the level design feels like it’s been greatly improved!

I’m really trying to like gears 5. The dated controls really hurt. I’m definitely enjoying the improved visuals, though. Now Ori and The Will of the Wisps is amazing! It’s better than the first in every way.

I got a series X. It doesn’t make a sound and its form factor is less obnoxious than pS5’s. But like PS5, you really have to make sure the exhaust air isn’t boxed in, since it’s hot! Both systems feel extremely cool, though. The games look great on it. I’ve played ori 2, fh4 and gears 5. But none of them stack up to Mikes Morales or Demon’s Souls, in terms of “next gen” visuals. Also, the dualsense has spoiled me. I’d say Astrobot is the most next gen game I’ve played. Long term, I think the series X will be great and I can’t wait to play a new Forza on it.

Finished Miles Morales the other day. It’s fun and a fantastic tech demo (some parts look insanely good!), but it only had a handful of rollercoaster moments, and is only 6 hours long. I give it a 7. Astrobot is amazing, btw. It’s short, but it’s the kind of game you want to replay. The dual sense is the real deal, especially in this title. On the series X end, I’ve been enjoying the latest Ori (downsampled 6K). It’s gorgeous! I just set up the series X tonight, so I hope to give FH4 a shot tomorrow. Maybe I’ll download gears 5, as well.

The worst thing about the ps5 is that it can’t be kept in a small enclosure. It blows out a lot of hot air (but the unit stays quiet and cool). I have it upright, next to my tv, for proper ventilation. That shit will fry if I keep it in the same place I used for my ps4 pro/one x. I’ll finally get my series x on Wednesday (too lazy to drive an hour to pick it up sooner). Once I get it, I’ll be curious as to how it compares. I can tell the series x will have a smarter form factor.
