  1. For March 10, Best Buy was selling 3DS downloads at a discounted price.

I had been thinking about buying a GBAsp so that I could buy a handful of original GameBoy's best games, and alot of those games are the Mario Lane games, and Wario Land, and maybe a couple of Kirby games, and the first Pokemon game.

I decided against that. if I really want to play those games, then I can buy them as virtual console games for 3DS.

The games I bought were SMB3, Mario Lane 1, and Mario Land 2.  And then , because of a Giant Beastcast I was listening to, they brought up the idea that they never played through SMB1 without using level skips, and therefore had never played through all levels of the game.  So I felt like doing that before I played through SMB3.

So I am playing SMB1 on the 3DS, and because there are rarely any power ups, the only way I can get more lives is by trying to make an effort to find the coins to get 100 for another life. And they do not give out alot of coins.  So I am cheating by creating restore points at the beginning of almost every single level. How many worlds are there? 9?  I just played through the first 2 within 20 minutes late last night.

Play that, definitely skip SMB2, and then start casually start SMB3.  That D-pad on the 3DS.? Not ideal, way too low. And from what I can tell, they can't let you re-configure the face buttons, either. I wanted "Y" to be the button I hold down to make Mario run faster, and the lowest button "B" to be the jump button. But B is for running fast, and A is for jumping, and X and Y don't seem configurable.

  2. I think it is important because there needs to be a real push to improve content create by predominantly black artists for TV and Film.

There is too much shitty programming on channels like BET, and it that can't possibly be because its not like there's ALOT of programming devoted to black people and black culture in the first place.

I swear, about 80% of BET seems be based on the format established by Soul Food. Remember that movie Soul Food back in the 90's.  Just about the vast majority of black programming hasn't deviated far from that. Tyler Perry has got his own brand, and then things seem to fall off from there.

So having a successful movie, that had serious money poured into it is hopefully a good sign that they can put money into other things that creatively go into other genres. Like maybe sci-fi or fantasy. Or historical drama.

  3. the same black friday that multiple news outlets and adobe metrics said that Switch was the highest selling video game product?

Because if Xbox and PS4 beat the Switch, it would've been because of the XBX launch earlier in November........which should not count if we are just counting Black Friday period.  From November 23rd onwards, the Switch beat Xbox sales and PS4 slim sales, when they were priced down to $189 and $199.

I love how these idiots are taking what I've said and twisting it beyond belief to support their bullshit.

When I get access to my computer this evening all the clarification needed will be provided.

Are you going to grab a digital camera and take a picture of your computer monitor for that, as well???????????????????????

I mentioned Christmas for the sake of these things being purchased for it, not the month of December.

Dynocrap: Guess what, guiz..............people don't buy things in December for Christmas.

Jesus, this guy is reaching Kellyanne Conway levels of stupidity.

  6. Just got done playing the singleplayer campaign for CoD WW2.

Really, really did not feel like playing the game based on the first 30 minutes, alone. I mean it immediately had you doing the same type of initial levels as MoH AA from way back then. Walking through trenches.

And then, the game really did pick up. And it really felt like a fun ride, with alot of interesting diversions to never get too repetitive.

And, I don't know about most people, I always liked following the narrative of the CoD games, I had liked MW2 the most, and I didn't follow the Black Ops storyline all that well. But this story is quite pleasant, and quite cohesive.  It helps that the cutscenes and mo-cap acting are pretty sharp. Josh Duhamel probably does a better acting job in this game than he has in any movie or TV show.

I played the prologue to the Nazi Zombie shit, I got through it, at least. But if they have more cutscenes with Ving Rhames and David Tennant, then I would've been interested in at least attempting to play it. But I returned the rental back.

  7. I mean its pretty epic when it comes time to fight. And, at first I was lamented the 131 minute length of the movie, but they do no rush portions of the movie, and they made the final confrontation is pretty big.

The movie succeeds because they do the ONE SONG that should be played during any movie that is about Norse mythology and Valhalla.

And they play that song at the absolute ultimate point in the movie. Its just too glorious.

  8. I just bought and played the final Sleeping Dogs DLC: Year of the Snake.

Its the weakest out of the three main DLC missions. Very basic story, and just an excuse to do some pretty standard missions. THe only new type of mission is "this car has a bomb with a timer, and you need to drive it into the water so that it detonates with no harm"

So I'm officially done with Sleeping Dogs.  Main game and the first two DLC missions are still very good.

Gonna probably start playing through Tomb Raider now.

  9. I'm starting and stopping alot.  I played about 3 hours into Mark of the Ninja on the PC and stopped.  I played Most Wanted U for about 5 hours last week.  I just got Lego City Undercover in the mail this weekend.

I should probably just pay $6 and play the final Sleeping Dogs DLC (or maybe they'll do another Steam sale soon).

Still never got back into Dishonored, I left that game about halfway through (I think).  Should go back and actually finish GTA4 because that is the reason why i won't begin playing the DLC episodes yet.

And somehow my brother lost or gave away the X360 copy of Red Dead Redemption, which I only played 3 hours into, I want to finish it because I bought the Zombie DLC a long time ago.

My PS3 broke quite some time ago, so I want to borrow a friends PS3 so that I can play Infamous 2, UC3, and a few other games I've missed.

And I can't find my 3DS, I want to buy a 3DS XL whenever it gets on sale (I just missed a Target $160 sale this past week), but I want to trade in my older model and transfer over my data.

Yeah, I got a mess going.

How does this not annoy the shit out of you? That would drive me crazy. Stopping a good way into a game but having an intention to come back to it months later? I could never do that. To me, doing that just completely breaks the flow of the game. Once I start a game I feel like I have to finish it and I'll rarely start playing another game until I finish the one I'm playing at that time.

I just feel too guilty sometimes to play video games.  Some family related problems, there not MY problems, but I feel I should be doing something about it.  Some tax shit I have to take care of that I just keep on putting off again and again.

And I decided to really commit to going to the gym every other night, so only leaves about 2 or 3 weeknights free and some saturday afternoons free.

I play my video games in concentrated spurts.

  11. Playing through some Nintendoland games, finally tried out multiplayer games with other people tonight. The best overall multiplayer game is probably the Luigi's Mansion. The Mario chase game is fun, but mostly as the guy who is playing Mario and running away from everybody, it doesn't seem very fair to the people chasing him. Luigi's mansion requires some real strategy between the people hunting the ghost. They can hurt the ghost by turning on their flashlights, but when they turn on their flashlights they walk much slower, and their battery starts going low. Tried out NSMBU with multiplayer as well, the person using the gamepad screen is probably best left to girlfriends or people who aren't able to handle the frantic gameplay that having more than 1 character on screen can take. Mario and Luigi do not clip through each other, you can't walk past the other character and if you jump on their head it sends them bouncing down. Sharing ledges, moving platforms and projectiles like flying enemies and throwing koopa shells, this becomes very frantic ZombiU is definitely an interesting game. First of all, I get scared easily by horror games, so I'm playing this very slow to begin with. But collecting ammo and scavenging is very engaging. It makes you progress thru the game at a very methodical pace. Assuming you are doing well and collecting everything, its sets you up for being massively pissed and upset them moment you fuck up and you lose your stuff. I did the first two missions, and I did them very well. I thought I had this under control, plenty of ammo, plenty of medkits. I get back to my safehouse and I thought that I should save the game and come to a stop because the tension really does take alot out of me. But instead I walk up to the safehouse monitors that trigger the next mission, and the guy says that my safehouse is under attack and fixing to be swarmed some waves of zombies in just a few minutes. I don't know what to do, I walk outside the safehouse door and I start hearing the zombies from multiple places, and I panic and use up most of my ammo on the first couple of them and I let two of them get close to me as I try to fight them off with my cricket bat. I die. Second person has little ammo, and she dies quickly, I lost all my medkits. And now I got nothing. This is why having friends connected online is important, because you'll be able to find their zombies and take their loot. Also downloaded AssCreed3 on the PC and playing through that, still on Sequence 2. I think its alright so far, but I'm definitely seeing that I won't be climbing as many buildings as before. Dishonored is on the backburner, and I just bought Mark of the Ninja. Got some other Steam games I haven't played yet.
