This game is incredible! It's like they took everything that was great about Heavy Rain and made it even better. Story is pretty addictive, too! I also love playing this with the Beyond Touch App on Android.

Purchased Final Fantasy VII on Steam. Game looks better than when playing it on the PS3. Have been in a Final Fantasy mood ever since seeing the recent FFXV trailer. 

Final Fantasy Dimensions (Droid). It's nice to play an old-school RPG by Square Enix again that isn't a remake. Game looks beautiful on my Nexus!

 

Simcity is having all kinds of server problems. It took about ten minutes just to connect to a server to play the beginning tutorial. Then when I started my own city, the game ran long enough for me to literally build ten houses and a coal power plant.  As soon as the coal power plant started working, the game crashed, my city is gone, and I've been spending the last 25 minutes trying to reconnect to any server.

Bought a 3DS XL and about three or four games for it (took advantage of the Toys R' Us "buy one, get one 40% off" deal). Bought a few used games from Gamestop as well.

Thoughts about the system:

• Manuevering with the circle pad doesn't feel all that precise, the shoulder buttons feel stiff, and the A/B/Y/X buttons feel too small. I played through the first stage of one of my all-time favorite Nintendo games, Star Fox 64 3D, and was having a hard time doing even basic movements. My hands were starting to cramp up.
• Tried using the 3D feature for a few games, but ultimately got tired of trying to hold the device at just the right angle to view anything properly, so I no longer use this feature.
• Sound volume is a bit low. You can barely hear some games even with the volume turned all the way up. I now use headphones for all games.

• Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 owns!
• Theatrhythm Final Fantasy ranks among my favorite rhythm games. Basic and Expert levels are simple enough, but the level about that is ridiculously difficult.
• Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance and Tales of the Abyss are also fun (although I wish Tales had voice-overs during animated conversations ).

What are some of the best Indie games available on Steam that I should play? After playing To The Moon, I am really interested in what other good games are out there.

To the Moon was awesome some really heart wrenching moments in that game.

So I was over there just hanging out on the couch on my computer while she made dinner. We ate, watched TV. Y'know normal shit. Then right when I was about to show it to her, her mom calls, which is nothing out of the ordinary, her mom usually calls around this that time. She on the phone for about 20 minutes with her about some bullshit, then after she's like let's go to bed. Anytime she says "let's go to bed" that early it's just a keyword for let's fuck. Knowing that this might be my last time getting laid for a while I happily oblige. She gives me head, which was incredibly awkward because the video kept looping in my head the whole time, then we fuck.

After we were done I wait about 10 minutes then I try to go in for round two, but she keeps saying she's tired. So that's when I go "how about some porn to get you in the mood" and I open my laptop and start playing the video. The second she turned around and saw the video she just gets wide eyed and then starts staring at me, then back at the video, then back at me, then just starts crying. I start asking her who is that, when was that recorded, etc etc but she's just not answering my questions. So then I just get tired of it and I'm like "look I'm going, when you're ready to talk you can call me". Then I just get dressed, take all the leftovers out the fridge, then go home.

So it was definitely her, and now I'm home with a big ass bowl of pasta, and I have yet to tell her that I posted that video to a whole forum full of people.

Started playing Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational on my PSVita while riding the train to and from work. It's surprisingly a lot of fun and pretty addicting! Obtained 3 gold stars in the Beginner League so far. Very beautiful golf courses! Obtained a lot of points, but haven't seen anything that I wanted to buy in the store as of yet.

Purchased Persona 4 Arena and Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland, today.

It's awesome! Very beautiful and solid game so far. I'm having some graphic and framerate issues though because the game isn't recognizing my graphics card properly on my laptop. I'll have to play with the settings a bit. :(

Well, finished Xenosaga Ep. 1.

So once again we end up with a pretty one dimensional combat system much like Xenogears was plagued with. However, the new additions and tweaks did help prevent it from becoming too uninteresting and boring. There's some nice ideas in here but they just need to balance everything out so these ideas can really shine. I'll be jumping into Xenosaga Ep II so hopefully I'll see some improvements.

Gravity Rush (Vita) and Ys Origins (Steam/PC)

I can't do it. I can't fuckin do it anymore. I tried, I really tried to like FF XII but I just can't do it. There is just too much grinding required for this game. It's too damn tedious and the game gives you nothing to help motivate you to grit your teeth through it all. This is fuckin' maddening, I seriously think this game has took a large chunk of my sanity and I'll never see it again.

Everything requires grinding. Want to use a new armor set or weapon? Grind for License Points. 95% of the enemies in this game gives you 1 LP after it dies so you're going to have to kill a lot of them to get the necessary LP you need to buy the license for that new armor set and weapon. Oh, but wait, you've got to have gil to buy those new things, don't you? Go grind for loot. Hey, hey, hey, not so fast- getting loot is not that simple. After you kill an enemy there is a chance that they might drop loot and the loot they do drop might not be worth much so make sure you get a lot of it. Got yourself a lot of it and sold it? Good. Now get your new equipment that is going to be quickly outdated by the time you finish the next dungeon and unfortunately for you, the next town most likely won't have that next tier of equipment for you so you're just going to have to grind out some levels for the time being. Enemies don't give much experience though so you're going to have to kill a lot of them to gain a level. Don't worry, the next tier of equipment is going to be there eventually and when it does appear it's going to be a lot more expensive so you might as well start grinding for that loot now to be prepared for that. Look on the bright side, soon the equipment is going to start getting so incredibly expensive you literally won't be able to afford to keep all your characters up to date with the latest gear and weapons so just focus on three characters and shelf the rest.

Sir, what if I focus on the wrong three characters and the characters I needed to focus on are now severely under leveled? Not a problem. You see, there is no such thing as character individuality in this game, they are all exactly the same. Oh sure, the License Board can create a very convincing illusion that characters should be built to do specific things or serve a distinct role but the truth of the matter is all of their base stats are damn near equal all across the board so they can all do everything. None of them excel at any task over another so just have them learn it all. It's common sense stuff really.

With that out the way you can now proceed to set your Gambits and watch your team battle without even the slightest need of your input. Yes, that's right, the game can literally play itself. Pssht, who the hell pops in a game to actually play a game? No one wants to feel engaged in the combat. that sounds pretty close to sounding fun. That's a silly idea. real fun is having the game do everything for you.

How could anyone enjoy this game?

How could anyone even consider this to be anything but an AWFUL game?

These are questions that will haunt what little is left of my sanity.
