howd you get a tokotoko to spawn?they're everywhere in billy goats bluff (north-west of Hamelin, it's a long path in the mountains with a city at one end up the top of a hill, pandida or something it's called, they don't let you in to the city initially). just run down the path you'll usually find one as a group leader, easy 8k experience just for him. sometimes there'll even be two in a group for the mad exp

After finding out about the toko/tokotokos (lmao 9-17k experience for one easy battle, shit's broken) i'm liking Ni No Kuni a lot more since all the frustration has gone from the battle system (well almost all). The flip side though is that all the challenge is basically gone as well. So, y'know. At least I can appreciate the charm the game has more now. I think I'm nearly at the end though, hopefully I'll finish it by MGR on Thursday

Lmao. Same. I'm giving the game a break for a little while. The AI is kind of really retarded, but I still pretty much love the game. Just...spending some time away from itI, no shit, just got interrupted in an attack by Drippy telling me to use the attack he had just interrupted me using. Still cost MP and shit. WTF But yeah the game's still likeable but damn it could have been way better

The more I play Ni No Kuni the more I hate the AI. Why does Esther piss away her AI using powerful ass spells that suck up mp on monsters much weaker than us instead of just using the physical attacking familier that I gave her? Even if I select the "Don't use abilities" tactic or whatever it is, she won't fucking use it. Actually, why does she just flat out refuse to use any familier other than that stupid penguin that I desperately want to rename but don't know how? i've gotten pretty good at sneaking up on them, but goddamn the capture rate must be low as fuck. i've gone up like 3 trying to get one, lost count of how many i've fought is there a way to improve capture odds apart from that one thing you can buy with the cards? shit isn't even unlocked for me yet

So after playing Ni No Kuni this weekend, I'm not really sure how I feel about it. It looks nice, the missions I've done so far are reasonably varied and engaging enough. I don't really connect with the game though. Story seems OK but all of the characters bore me and Oliver's voice actor fucking sucks imo. And the battle system is generally just an excercise in frustration since your partner will always just piss away their mp (even when I set it on "don't use abilities" or whatever it's called the dumb bitch still can't use them fast enough), as well as all the shit hot sauce mentioned.
