What's all the outrage about? Asking for a friend.

There's no set battle theme, but several remakes of the classic track for different areas. I think some of the other ones are even better than the one you posted.

They need more Eurodance in their lives.

It breaks ideas creates new ones tests the norm, can make video games something else in the future. This game can suck, but the fact it asks what should video games be is good for us. Unless you're happy always playing on 7 face buttons and getting sequel vaporware.
The problem is that it doesn't do anything particularly interesting or innovative. Nothing I've seen from this game so far warrants the deep reflection on the boundaries of the medium that some people are trying push.

Eh, so I figured my new game + for both playthroughs would stack up for my third one, but that wasn’t the case. Disappointing. Oh well, Claude’s house is apparently the least interesting one, anyhow (edelgard > dimitri>claude, apparently)
Just make multiple save files.
Edit: nvm, you would've had to do that on your very first playthrough.
Can't comment on the other houses just yet, but I've enjoyed Golden Deer a lot so far. The students develop well during the timeskip and I hear the route is more focused on worldbuilding.

That’s great to hear man. What have been the flaws iyo? Also, which house did you pick?
Golden Deer.
While there are some good maps, a lot of them aren't the most creative compared to previous games. Even though it's optional, the tea time mechanic feels lame and unnecessary. Same goes for fishing.
For something that was advertised like a pretty big deal, the hub is very undercooked and poorly coded. There's no base building element or something tangible that shows your progress throughout the story aside from a few extra shops and rooms opening. There's nothing indicating the passage of seasons despite having a calendar and the narrator describing every month's weather. There isn't even a day/night cycle! This makes the exploration aspect quickly get old and tedious - I've just reached the timeskip and already have very little reason to explore the hub aside from sharing meals and talking to everyone once a month.
From a technical standpoint, there's absolutely no reason for such a small, mostly empty and low detail environment to chug on the Switch hardware or require extensive loading.

Been hooked on Fire Emblem for the past 3 weeks or so. It's not perfect, but it does so many things exceptionally well that it might surpass Tactics Ogre LUCT as my favorite SRPG when everything is said and done.

Finally looks closer to the early Xeno games.

Octopath is nice but Square's output on SNES was the best the company has ever done and probably ever will.
This is precisely why I barely consider those games in a comparison. It'll be a very long time before we see another GOAT-level run like Square had from 1990-2000.

The fighting game lineup is a lot better than SNES as well.

The obsession with "identifying as" seemed to not exist for thousands of years, and then 2015 happened.
I blame social media and late-stage capitalism.

If they continue like this, it might be close. First-party is definitely trending towards a better showing than SNES right now.

Wtf
I doubt even half of them understand what it means themselves. It's just that the expected response to something like this on that forum is to;
1. Not question it.
2. Post something supportive.
If you don't do the above two, might as well avoid the thread altogether or else you'll get banned.

At this point they should just announce Banjo 3 as a multiplat and piggyback off the Nintendo audience. The game will sell much better on Switch anyway.

The way they handled Phantom Dust was an absolute disgrace. It's the second time they waste this amazing game design concept due to lack of ambition and general incompetence. Not only did they attempt to farm out the reboot to a small C-rate developer, but they didn't even bother to consult the original's director on the project.

Can't wait for the showdown between Cooke and Whipit.
The next Switch may feature DLSS2.0 (or better) support, job ad suggests

It's more like they'll need DLSS to upscale next-gen rendering from 540p to 1080p for a better portable experience. While a 4K dock is possible, it's probably less complex to design the system so they can safely crank up the clockspeeds in docked mode and use DLSS to fill in the gaps to 4K.
