Graphics are nice but gameplay seemed pretty standard. Nothing about it to help it stand out from a very crowded pack. These types of games are a dime a dozen now. Why should I play this?

I'm going to play it after Sea of Stars.

I mean DMC 5's art direction. Didn't like it. I'm on the other side of the fence when it comes to its gameplay as well. I did not care for DMC 5, it was pretty meh.

Also the soundtrack has failed, that might sound superficial but it's kind of an important element for me in SF games. I also generally dislike the art direction, not everything, I love Ryu design for example but still in general it's just not exciting to me. 

Nah, I hear you. I don't like the art direction either. It's the DMC 5 problem. I just don't think the art direction fits these games.

I didn't care for the SF VI demo so I don't even have SF VI. The game felt off to me. I didn't like how rooted it felt. Or at least that's how it was in the demo, no clue if it's improved in the final game.

Same. I see them both go on sale all the time but for some reason I never bite. Hell, the first one was a PS+ game a couple months ago so I really don't have a reason not to give the first one look. I'll get around to it eventually.

MK is seriously in a league of their own when it comes to single player content in Fighting Games. It'll get Fighter of the Year just off that alone.

From Software's apparently working on a game with the codename Spellbound. Supposedly going to be heavily magic based so maybe we'll see something interesting.

Or it'll just be another Soulslike with an emphasis on magic...

it could go either way TBH. From Software is just as bad as Ubisoft at this point. Just recycle the formula, add some minor tweaks, and then call it a new game.

Negan was one of the more entertaining character and was one of the best thing to happen to this dumb ass show. 

Less about emotional attachment and more like awful execution and timing. They literally did a fake out just a couple episodes prior.

What was the point if they were just going to follow through right after?

It just became very apparent to me that the writing shifted focus to being about trying too hard to shock the viewer instead of being about trying to tell a coherent and interesting story.

It's no surprise to me that the show lost a massive chunk of its viewerbase and the show began its decline after this episode. The writing went to complete shit.

I don't think I agree with XVI having a good story or even good writing. I've seen quite a few random cutscenes and I found every single one of them to be dry and flaccid. It's like it WANTS to be seen as interesting and serious but the writing doesn't do a good job of making me want to stay engaged.

 The tone shifts are an issue too, one moment the game is a "a drama for grown ups" but then shifts into typical "JRPG nonsense for teenagers". The game doesn't do a good job balancing the two and it's because the writing just isn't good. They try, they really do try but sometimes effort doesn't make up for lack of talent.

Unless the game is being made by Matsuno, FF should avoid trying to take on serious themes.

Sun Wukong has like 70 powers doesn't he? That's my main issue with the game. Wukong is OP as fuck so how do you make a good game with him?

There is a lot of flexibility and variety you can tap into for gameplay purposes though. Hell, just half of that 70+ powers would still be more than the majority of games. Assuming of course they even bother to explore the vast moveset this character possesses.

I feel like they have to though. If his moveset is nerfed and limited then it's not really Wukong. It's the Superman problem. The characters are OP by nature but that makes it difficult to design a game around them.

So is it traditional style or that new JRPG style?

First was alright. Didn't really want a sequel though so not sure if I'm going to check this out.

I don't think I've ever had my backlog this bad before. Back in the day I might've had 5-10 games in the backlog. No big deal, I could burn through that on a 2 week vacation.

Now I can barely keep my backlog under 30. Doesn't help that I tend to impulse buy so every time I start scratching games off the list they immediately get replaced by other shit I bought on a whim. It's really bad right now since I bought a PS5 recently. I was browsing through my PS Game Library and noticed so many games I straight up forgot I even bought.

Yeah. I got it. Took me awhile though because I completely forgot vaulting was a thing in this game. Wonder why they got rid of it in later games?

A lot of games have ditched split-screen so that's really not that big of a deal.

Spectator mode? The only time I've ever used that was in a Fighting Game, and that's only because its a full lobby so I'm waiting for my turn.

Why would I want to race AI in a multi-player mode? I can just play single player for that.

These are not essential so who really cares that they're missing?
