Yeah, the game certainly got the look down. Its sitting at a 68 at Metacritic so it certainly has problems. It's only 20 bucks though so I might just grab it anyways. I'll just set expectations to low.

Yeah, I saw that but I'm not really into Roguelikes. I did see Thymesera(?) and I might grab that. It's the Bloodborne inspired game, no clue if it's good or not.

On another note, I got my PS5 yesterday but I was busy so couldn't get around to setting it up. I just finished doing that and holy mother of God, this thing is big and ugly. Like holy shit, no wonder there are so many people wanting a Slim. I mean, I knew it was big but you don't realize it's pure bulk until it's staring right back at you. But anyways, fired it up, browsed the PS Store just to see what deals were going on and saw Demon's Souls for 30 bucks. It just seemed right to make it my first PS5 game and the first game I'll use to christen this big, fat, ugly thing.

That's cool but I'm not going to bother chasing it. I'm just going to do what I want. I played P5R with trying to accomplish everything in one playthrough and the game just felt like such a chore, I'm not doing that again LOL. Especially since I'm actually enjoying P4G, I'm not trying to dampen that enjoyment.

I totally hear you. P5R just did not want to end. I had my fill of the game around the 60 hour mark but that game didn't want to end until the 120 mark. If that game was like 80 hours tops I probably wouldn't dislike it as much as I do.

Ehh, I thought it was pretty average as most Western made Action games tend to be.

Apparently if you want to see everything you have to do two playthroughs because a lot of stuff is locked behind a second playthrough. So I'm not really concerning myself with getting a Good/True ending on this playthrough, I'm just doing whatever I want.

So I've put in close to 10 hours into P4G so far and I'm enjoying it. A lot of it has to do with the writing, I find the writing in P4G to be so much better than P5R. I even find the characters to be more entertaining. I really didn't care for the cast in P5R so it was hard to care for any of their plights because I just found all the characters to be either generic or annoying.

Meanwhile FF XVI sales have dropped considerably and failed to meet expectations. After the initial hype and shill reviews ran their course the real consensus shined through and the consensus is XVI is overrated and disappointing. Hey SE, maybe next time you might want to put an RPG inside your flagship RPG. Idiots... BG3 is going to wipe it's ass using FF XVI.

I replay old JRPGs all the time so I'm use to playing without QoL improvements.

Expensive. Hell, the damn thing is still expensive even today. I remember I was curious about buying a 3DS XL a couple months ago and was shocked at the prices I was seeing. The prices were around 300 bucks which seems ridiculous. You might as well just buy a Switch at that point.

I thought some of their own engines were pretty good but it seemed like it was really only the Mario team that could really make theirs shine. Silky smooth performance and vibrantly impressive visuals. Just good stuff all around. Not sure what BotW uses (always assumed it was whatever Monolith Soft uses) but that engine clearly struggles on the Switch.

They've really stepped it up in the animation department. Animation wise this is their best work yet, it honestly looks good. Also, I had a good laugh when Stryker appeared. No idea he was in this game.

Well, I finally decided to try Persona 4 Golden. I quit Persona 3 around the point where and I didn't really care for P5R. However, P4G seems to be pretty widely regarded as most fans favorite so I figured, "Fuck it, if I don't like this one then it's safe to say I just don't like the series". Fighting Games are selling better than they ever did as well. This was another supposed "dead genre". Strive just hit 2.5 million which is insane for the GG series because that series has never managed to come close to even 1 million. DB FighterZ broke 10 million. Tekken 7 and SF V sold like crazy. SF 6 is apparently approaching 3 million and its only been out for a couple months. I'd like to see Turn Based JRPGs make a proper comeback now. They are supposedly "not in demand" but yet Persona 5 and Dragon Quest XI are widely regarded as the best JRPGs from last gen.

Most likely. A lot of DLC I don't really consider worth it though. Then again a lot of DLC tends to be stuff like items, costumes, music packs, etc. Stuff I can easily go without. If it's actual content though then I'll usually grab it because they almost always have the Season Pass option which bundles all the DLC together for a discounted price. Nioh DLC, FromSoftware DLC, Characters for Fighting Games, etc. You know, stuff like that. I find that worth the price.
