  1. I finished Days Gone  I decided to stick with it after hating the start of the game and it does become better once you start unlocking more thingd and getting progress. As a shooter it can be pretty good.

But FUCK do open world games suck and this game has ALL of the probpems that ever plagued open world games rolled into one. The constant travelling from A to B to A to C to A just to start missions, the "emergent gameplay" aka lets just spam enemies or repetitive sidetadks every couple of minutes , the terrible pacing of the story because the game needs to pad out its length with a few more missioms before the story is allowed to move forward, the fat weighty, janky Rockstar movement and animation, and the collect-a-thon so bad it puts Rare's N64 era games to shame.

I was thinking about trying Red Dead 2 after this but fuck that :facep: I'm burned out on open world games for a long while and I onoe Rockstar games share many of the same problems.

Actually come to think of it its mostly Rockstar games that have these problems. I don't remember Horizon having a lot of this bullshit.

Anyway since then I've been craving real games aka games that let you just play, and I'm been exclusively on the Deck. This thing has taken all my time I've never played this month in a long while. Working from home these past few years I don't feel like sitting at a desk for hours doing work and then transitioning to sitting at a desk playing PC games you know? So the Deck has been great for that. I saw vampire survivors on sale too and decided to give it a try and yeah I can see why people pour hours into this thing, its deeper than it looks in videos.

Probably going to be a Deck exclusive gamer for a little while. Just catching up on my huge backlog mostly.

Well, it's not going to replace a PC...  Just docking it in the living room for some couch gaming every once in a while.

I just played the madagascar/clock tower/bike chase chapters in UC4 on the Deck and it's just insane that it's running on that small device.  It felt just like I was playing it on an original PS4.

Oh yeah that works. I have a TV in the same room as my PC though so I just plug in a long HDMI cable if I want the console style experience. I've also got a raspberry pi hooked up to it for retro games. So for me personally theres little point to the dock.

It seems they're making progress on the desktop too though as the steamdeck controller customization (which is AMAZING btw) is now in the desktop beta.

  3. I haven't docked it and probably never will :freeben:

I don't see the point outside of the initial setups. I have a desktop running Endeavour KDE so its the same thing but on my main machine, and if I want to drop games onto the Steamdeck I just put the SD card into my PC and drop them into the relevant folders. If I'm going to play on a monitor or TV then I just use my gaming PC.

I see people hooking up monitors and portabled displays and everything but for me this is to compliment my PC, not replace it entirely.

  4. Dumbest game of all time for sure and not much of a loss but how does a port end up this bad?

    704 x 396p and a 20-29fps framerate.

Having said that the XBO port looks underwhelming too, 900p and 30fps?

    Shit dev. Shit game.

Everything in this situation was between her and Platinum... So I'm not sure how you're trying to make this about Nintendo.

You're also trying too hard to make this about gender and failing.

Not once did she claim she was being underpaid because she is a woman.  Not once did the people who rushed to defend her make such a claim either.  Her defenders were saying Voice actors as a whole should get paid more and this is another example.

It was a contract dispute about money.  You're the only one making this about her being a woman.

Do you only see the world from the lense of culture wars BS that you apply to unrelated situations?

8 years where any criticism of a woman = right wing incel hatred and misogyny from people like you, but now....its ok we dont just take her word for it.

If she had been fired from any other publisher and claimed it was sexism do you think the woketards would have waited for the other side of the story? No retardera and you along with them would have the pitchforks at the ready.

What does a contract dispute have to do with her being a woman?

This was about a voice actor believing they should be paid more than she should have for an action game that wouldn't have as much dialoge as an adventure game or an RPG.

Funny, this time its nothing to do with her being a woman because Nintendos reputation is at stake, but about 5000 events before this, when shitty journalists, celebrities and the like were called out, THEN it was just misogyny. Now its different because Nintendos honour matters more.

Difference is no one was begging for years for this like you do. It was announced out of the blue and released shortly after.  Turned out to be a good port.

To be fair thats because sheep gave up begging for ports a long time ago since odds are usually slim to none that they wont get one :trump2:

  8. Why is it when a PS or Nintendo game flops that's the end of it and said game is treated forever as a joke, but when an xbox or lemming hyped game flops its to be treated as still a good game thats worth playing?

In before "our games are just better" bullshit.

Gotta give credit to TB, at least he owns up to purchasing mistakes. Some fools here will try to convince you something owns when you know they know it straight up sucks.

Lemmings in a nutshell. Every 6.0 flop they had was a banger in their eyes.

I still think Twinkie takes the L here because all the shortcomings of the Ayaneo Air were known before he bought it :D a little research goes a long way. Funnily enough if he had stuck to low requirement indie games as he originally stated, and was really looking for a device he could travel with, I think this system would have been ok  Or at least not as disappointing.

  10. I bought Persona 3 when it was released at the very end of the PS2 era. I kept it sealed because I never have time to play JRPGs.

Fast forward 10+ years and I decide to open it and give it a try since I'm not one of those who is OCD about keeping games sealed.

It didn't work :trump2: And the refund period had expired and even if it hadn't theres no way Atlus was going to have any spare copies around for me.

True story.  I could have sold it as sealed, but then if someone opened it and asked for a refund as it didn't work I probably would have never believed them :ben:
