Man what a bummer this whole saga ended up being. I remember how excited we all were when we found out the creator of Dead Space was working on a spiritual successor to it.
Game was so underwhelming though. Easily in the top 3 most disappointing games i've played this gen.

You didnt even finish GOTG so i see it doesnt bother you either.
BG3? Ill return to it soon. Just wanted to play through Lies of P and the Cyberpunk expansion first since they're shorter.

Then ill wait 4 months. Not like there isnt a bunch of other stuff to play.
Good for you I guess. I would pity anyone having to wait 4 months for a playable version of a GOTY calibur game.

I really liked FF7R. Ill be playing the best version of this 3 months after.
Yeah just conveniently forget that the original game was notoriously a bad port when it released on PC...

ha, just refresh the area at the stagazer. it's a glitch you'll encounter, every now and then.
yeah he's back
Im deep in the 4th area. The change in setting is very cool. The game also continues to introduce interesting new systems that add more variety to the gameplay. Other Souls-likes like Steelrising for example now feel so barebones in comparison.

This game is now great on all platforms. PC has the edge because of the newest version of ray tracing (even though the vast majority of hermits won't be able to play it at that level) but console players will still get to experience a very well made port.

Separate Ways just released too and is apparently awesome
I'd like to know if Ada is actually decently written and not a boring, terrible sounding character like in base RE4.

This merchant just moved from his original spot and have no idea where he went

yeah, i'm at a malenia type mini boss. fast af and will stun lock you to death. she's doable with a long range weapon, careful dodges. extremely doable with weapon arts and weapon art consumables, and a cakewalk with grenades, thermite and throwing cells.
as for final bosses, you'll get the ability to buff your summon. i haven't used it yet, but it's wild. once you access the fruit tree, you can gain the abilities. one of the buffs trigger your summon (well, spectre) to generate aggro, while having increased health (you can just unload your weapon arts or launch items unscathed) . so, while playing it straight up (pure sword play and arm attachment) is the preferred choice for the hardcore, there are enough ways to drop the difficulty. i dare say navigating through words 5 and 6 have been surprisingly easy. let's see how it holds up.
Do you know what the little blue marks in front of the roman numeral for each world mean? I have that in world 2 and then there's some kind of icon next to one of the areas. I wonder if thats some kind of side quest I can seek out.

I just found a vendor in the 5th area that sells unlimited of everything. You just
I did an experiment with the throwables and totally nuked the 5th main boss without even using my sword. If you want to know the Items I used, let me know.
edit: that vendor is in the red lobster inn lol
I heard the game gets really unforgiving later on and basically forces you to master the block and dodge mechanics or you’re pretty much screwed. I’m not sure I’m looking forward to that.
tbh I’m not really in the mood for tough as nails games right now in general. -
To be fair there are already plenty of playable characters based on the footage we’ve seen. If they’re as developed and play as well as they did in the first game then that will be fine.

Try using throwing cells. You can farm them at 2-3. Try to go into the fight with 5. Also, buy 5 electric blitz canisters. The merchant in 2-2 sells them. Weapons with electricity (like electric coil blade) kick ass.
Ahh, i didn’t know you could farm throwing cells. The merchants are all sold out of them so I only have a couple.
I’ll try to buy the electric weapon that’s one of the few im missing.

Made it to world 5 in Lies of P. Only 4% unlocked it, according to the Xbox achievement
That 4th main boss gave me some challenge. I think I’m a bit underpowered and have to dump more in their version of strength.
I’m getting my ass handed to me by the 3rd level boss. -
So much hype for a pitiful flop nobody will be talking about another week from now. Goddamn

Nah it was a solid game and it actually ran well even on the shitty 1660ti I had at the time.

Wow, Tartarus looks even more dull now.
look at how flat and low poly that environment is but somehow it’s too much for PS3 according to Aza. -
I just hope the difficulty is more balanced. The spikes in the first game during some specific boss battles were very annoying.

you missed one of the best partsIf Story mode is all you’re interested in, then you may find some value in MK1 on the Switch. The cutscenes are pre-rendered and look great, even though the switch to in-engine fights is incredibly jarring, and the problem with long load times is mitigated due to the fact that you’re just watching the story as it loads. But you’d be less frustrated just watching it on YouTube.
The story mode is the best part but you’d still be better off just watching it on YouTube than playing through it on switch-

Like a Dragon Gaiden confirmed to be a day 1 game pass release - Ishin also releasing later this year
in System Wars

This is a spin off that ties into the new game but has nothing to do with the 1st Like a Dragon.
I think you can probably get away with playing this game first, and then going straight to Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth. Thats probably why they're releasing them in this format (this one in November, then Infinite Wealth in January). That'll probably give you enough of a background on the characters and themes.
Plus they're different combat systems. If you played the first Like a Dragon and then jumped straight into the new one, you'd have to deal with 100+ hours of the same turn based combat which would probably get tiring.
