  1. DD2 is the next big game for me but mostly just some pallet cleansing after finishing Rebirth. Also need to get around to IW and Unicorn Overlord...

Circled back to Mario Wonder the last couple days. Just going back through levels where I missed a purple coin/exit/seed the first time through. It really is a fantastic game, my big complaint is still that it lacks the level of difficulty I like to see in a platformer - which is a shame since it would be a fantastic base for that....controls are perfect and I really enjoy the aesthetic. The only levels that really get challenging are some of the secret world stuff and tbh a lot of those rely a bit more on gimmicks than anything else. Just give me some precise jumps and well placed enemies.

Still going with Balatro, but more a couple runs here and there. Just trying to finish all the decks/difficulties. Game still slaps.

Trying to play more Helldivers 2 but I'm pretty much solo right now. My one buddies PC just hates the game for whatever reason and the other guy kind of just fell off it.

I bought Minishoot Adventure on a whim. Twinstick shooter with Metroidvania/Zelda influences. Gonna leave the video below cause I can't explain it but I think a lot of you would dig it:

  2. Good timing for me, though I certainly won't be getting a 5090.

Planning a CPU upgrade here soon, 10600 is getting a little old and definitely bottlenecking me right now (3080ti 12gb). I'll probably get a 7800X3D, see where that puts  me performance wise. I'm at 1440p and will be for a long time still, so if I do upgrade it'll probably be to a 5070 or 5080, depending how those turn out. I'd probably just go for whatever hits 16gb tbh.

    Worse than Diablo 4's 86?

i wiped that one from my memory. But no, you’re right.

that said I can kind of understand that one since the reviewers probably just played through the campaign which is serviceable and while the signs are there, it really doesn’t start to suck until about 10-15 hours into end game.

  4. I gotta upgrade this year.

XR starting to show its age. My phone doesn't get nearly as much use as it did in the past now that I work from home. Mostly just for texting, music when im walking the dog/at the gym, taking pictures of the dog, or web browsing. I'll probably just get whatever the entry model is for the 15, or if it's not that big of an upgrade I'll jump on a discounted 14.

Eh, this game isn’t for me. I’ve gotten bored of clearing out areas. The combat isn’t that great either. Maybe I would be more invested if the characters weren’t so wooden. My favorite part, in the 5 hours I played, was negotiating a hostage situation. I did some exploring. Nice rocks? I’m sure this game is perfect for a certain type of gamer, one who likes to explore for the sake of exploring.

Yeah this is basically where I’m at after 15 hours or so.

there’s some things about the game I like, I think it’s got a cool aesthetic, I really like the space punk style. The combat is honestly better than I thought it would be for a Bethesda game. Some of the main story quests are alright and the faction quests seem solid.

    my issues:

-exploring is worthless. Anything that’s not on the critical (main quest or important side quest) just seems like a waste. Literally no reason to land on a random part of a planet, all you’ll find is a barren wasteland. Worse than those throwaway planets from ME1.  I guess if you want to do the crafting it’s okay but who wants to craft in this game? Not me.

-that’s further worsened by the fact that you basically have to fast travel anywhere which basically removes any of the more emergent gameplay situations that you might find in a Bethesda game.

-everything about the UI is amateur hour trash. Inventory and the ways you can interact with it suck, lack of a map is hordeshit especially in big cities

-space stuff is some big zzzzz

  6. Probably not? Most of the ones I want have probably already been ported to PC where I'd rather play them. I don't much use the portable mode for my Switch, most for indie type games or if I'm playing the older nintendo catalogue (SNES stuff). Maybe if they vastly improved the controllers when in portable mode i'd use it more.

Same. I’m usually not big on many retro games. Hell, I initially thought I’d be playing this in short intervals. Then I got hooked in. It helps that there aren’t any sections that overstay their welcome. Once you get past the tutorial, it becomes a JRPG for people who typically might not like them (due to issues like grinding, overly complicated UI systems, excess filler quests, not knowing what to do next, etc.). All of the fat is trimmed off here. The areas are pretty short and boss fights are frequent. A lot of scenic/enemy variety and a kickass OST.

Got this one installed, next on the list for me. Nice to hear that it's fairly concise.

Let's say they do. Do you think Nintendo has going to make games at the level of AAA production as Ghost of Tsushima? Of course they can't do this. So why bundle in a bunch of finicky hardware that they have no plans to use? This company is currently touting a 2D Mario as their big Christmas game. Wonder could just as easily run on a GameCube.

Nintendo won't make a game like Tsushima cause they're talented and not in the business of making soulless "AAA production" games.

They'll use the power of the console for much more interesting things. Nintendo has always pushed their hardware - TOTK, Luigi's Mansion 3, Mario Odyssey are three examples of it this gen.
