  1. I dunno if I'd go with revolutionary tbh. It's very much a refined version of the BOTW formula within the typical FROM design.
  2. Absolutely. The way they build the world is masterful, using the verticality and colour contrast to draw you around the world without the need for map icons and the typical ubisoft crutches. Clearly they took note of what Breath of the Wild did, which imo is the only game that comes close to this and is obviously the blueprint in my mind. That said, they absolutely evolved that formula and did a really impressive job fixing the problems that BOTW had, namely: 1) integrating their more traditional design elements within the open world. Keeping the sprawling setpieces that FROM is kn

    Elden Ring

ill be going strength with a big boy 2her like always. most fun way to play these games for me.
  4. I dunno, still feel like this is shit for everyone long term. short term it’s all great, Microsoft is still in customer acquisition mode, they’re absolutely fine taking massive losses to get that established user base. We get a cheap service with plenty of great games. how does this play out when they get the user base and turn their attention to recouping those losses and start profiting. Two main ways to do that are either increasing subscription cost (or creating tiers, etc) or cutting operating cost. Reality is it’s a combination of both of those. Easiest way to cut ope
  5. Grabbed Outer Wilds and Mass Effect:LE. Never played OW and I've heard good things, ME will be fun to revisit, probably jump in over the holidays.
  6. yeah honestly I feel like I’d play a lot more of horizon if it was just going through the races without all the in between. The characters are aggressively annoying too. Like if Ubisoft made a game about a summer festival. Without spoiling too much, only some of the game is a roguelike.
  7. 1) Diablo II: Resurrected - Incredibly solid remaster of what I consider to be the greatest game of all time 2) Metroid Dread - The return of 2D Metroid and arguably the best of them. Great pacing, nice tight 8 hour experience. Wish it had a tad more backtracking to it though. 3) Valheim - Game absolutely hooked me, so many clever tweaks on the survival genre making it not on the first of the genre that I like but one of my favourite games in recent memory. Can't wait to jump back into the new biomes next year. 4) Monster Hunter Rise - World was my first dive into the series, th
  8. Meh, tbh the game is fun. I have some issues with it but it's definitely fun. The biggest bummer is that it all seems to take place in basically the same biome...luckily that biome is a looker and arguably the best traditional Halo biome, but I can see it getting old.
  9. \ I don't wanna hear shit from the lemmings. If your PC was good enough to run this game you wouldn't be a lemming in the first place.

    Lol wokisoft

microsoft must absolutely hate that the majority of xbox owners are 15 year old rednecks drinking monster and saying the n word.
  11. this is fuck wild lmao but i think they're doing it for potentially visually impaired audiences? the description of their appearance, at least.
  12. I mean the mission design, physics, open world limitations of when they were made, etc. are all still gonna be there. I guess they're not too far off of modern GTA, but to be honest I wouldnt play those again either. there really isn't a modern gta since the franchise hasn't seen an entry in nearly 10 years.
  13. i think in a world where they did ground up remakes, VC would be the best. i just feel like that and 3 have aged pretttty poorly. SA probably has too, but it's a bit more recent. i could be wrong though, it's been a while.
  14. SA is definitely the only one of the trilogy id consider playing in 2021. at the same time i definitely wont actually play it. nice to know i can have it for 33 cents a month if i want though.
  15. yeah i resubbed the other week to play B4B with some friends. took a scroll through the games to see what was there and for such a big library there was surprisingly little i even wanted to bother installing. netflix model for sure, lots of good old content but most of the day and date original stuff seems like a hard pass for me. back in the day when i had more time than money this would have been sweet. i mean, it still is sweet, can't argue with a dollar, but there's a reason The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, Sopranos, etc. weren't Netflix originals.
  16. Movie? almost never. Album? Nothing new but I buy vinyls here and there, grabbed Lifestyles Ov Da Poor and Dangerous recently.
