Armoured Core is such a fantastic game to play. Running a dual gatling gun build with a pile driver, super quick to stagger with the gatlings and then i go in for the melee and wreck everything.

Game is fun but super uneven. Seriously lacking polish. There's aspects of it that are amazing - aesthetically, the music, the perks are interesting, main quest seems solid. Some of it is just okay - gunplay is better than FO but nothing great. Some of it just plain sucks - space stuff just seems like a waste of time, the map and inventory are inexcusably awful, everything around the UI just seems half baked or poorly thought out.

Backlog is still pretty big but I've been doing a decent job keeping up with this years games. Done with FFXVI, still chipping away at TOTK (trying to make that one last, probably won't finish it for some time), I'm in Act 3 of BG3 and should be done by the time AC6 is out. If Starfield doesn't suck I'll start that after AC6....otherwise I'll probably chip away at the backlog till Cyberpunk DLC (assuming that doesn't suck). The back half of the year is pretty light for me, SMRPG is short and I assume SMW will be too. So I should have some time to go back for the stuff I missed then

I'd be shocked if you don't love it, I'd damn near refund it myself if that was the case. One thing I'll say is there's a BIT of a learning curve around the combat and how it works (specifically with resting, how your spell slots recharge, that sort of stuff) but there's ample spoiler free videos out there that will get you going and once it really clicks it becomes a blast.

I just got to act 3. Put about 60 hours in this week lol, would have been more but I had a busy weekend. Just an amazing game, neck and neck with TOTK for my GOTY at this point, honestly probably has the edge right now. It's in that Elden Ring and TOTK tier of game for me. In terms of a fantasy game that just gives you millions of choices of varying consequence, I can't think of any better ones. Combat is amazing and just a joy to plan out. As much as I love the Persona games, I always start to burn out halfway through. They're too long for their own good, imo.

Tbf this is already much more successful commercially. And honestly it's a better game, as amazing as DOS2 is. Probably my GOTY so far, neck and neck with TOTK.

Meh, games are pretty cheap as far as hobbies go. Some of them should definitely cost more. if anything the relative standardization of prices considering the vastly differing quality/budget of these games is what I’d complain about.
