they aren't failing to market them, they're intentionally letting it die.

I'd be shocked if you don't love it, I'd damn near refund it myself if that was the case. One thing I'll say is there's a BIT of a learning curve around the combat and how it works (specifically with resting, how your spell slots recharge, that sort of stuff) but there's ample spoiler free videos out there that will get you going and once it really clicks it becomes a blast.

I just got to act 3. Put about 60 hours in this week lol, would have been more but I had a busy weekend. Just an amazing game, neck and neck with TOTK for my GOTY at this point, honestly probably has the edge right now. It's in that Elden Ring and TOTK tier of game for me. In terms of a fantasy game that just gives you millions of choices of varying consequence, I can't think of any better ones. Combat is amazing and just a joy to plan out. So many times a fight will start and I think "there's no way I can beat this" but the game is masterfully balanced imo and there's always a (an

As much as I love the Persona games, I always start to burn out halfway through. They're too long for their own good, imo. -
Tbf this is already much more successful commercially. And honestly it's a better game, as amazing as DOS2 is. Probably my GOTY so far, neck and neck with TOTK.

too many damn games lol. BG3 is taking me over now. -
Meh, games are pretty cheap as far as hobbies go. Some of them should definitely cost more. if anything the relative standardization of prices considering the vastly differing quality/budget of these games is what I’d complain about.

The joycons do have all the gimmicks of the Wii but them needing to be functional in handheld mode prevented shit from getting too out of control. On the Wii the opposite was true as you didn't even have a traditional control scheme out of the box. the Wii WAS a gimmick, the Switch just has a couple slapped on. the worst part about the Switch is that a couple of the gimmicks (joycons mostly) were relatively expensive so it adds to the hardware cost without adding anything to the experience (for me, at least).

I see them doing exactly that honestly. It worked out far too well not to. It needing to be a handheld also restricts some of their ability to make gimmicks, you can't have forced motion for example if you're expecting people to play it on planes and shit. I could see them eventually trying another dual screen gimmick, but i think it would be too cost prohibitive right now for them to do that on top of having it be portable. Maybe we get a small gimmick with limited impact to games ala DS > 3DS, but I can't really imagine what it would be.

Well, several years is basically Wii U's entire lifespan. Also seems a little arbitrary to talk about the first several years only. The entire Wii U lifespan was basically - 3D World. Smash Bros, Bayonetta 2, SMM, MK8, Pikmin, Tropical Freeze, Splatoon, BOTW? That's all I can really think of. Switch got all those and then some - TOTK, Bowser's Fury, Odyssey, Smash Bros Ultimate, Animal Crossing, Splatoon 2, SMM2, Fire Emblem:3H, TOTK, Luigi's Mansion 3, Pikmin 4, Mario + Rabbids, SMTV, Bayonetta 3, Tetris 99, Metroid Dread, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Link's Awakening, Als

I think you're ignoring the fact that Switch just comes with the portable mode. While I rarely use mine in portable, I didn't have to pay 500 bucks extra to do it.

Elder Scrolls Oblivion is getting a remake
Casual replied to Playstation Tablet's topic in System Wars
Probably a lot easier and profitable to make Oblivion. Oblivion was when the series went mainstream, huge launch(?) title for the 360. More importantly, while it's not as dumbed down as Skyrim, it has a lot of the same modern conveniences and is significantly streamlined compared to Morrowind. They can update the graphics/engine and mostly leave the systems alone and have it play fine for a modern audience. Morrowind I think would be a tough one for them to pull off - it never had that mainstream appeal so you have to hope it catches on. For them to do that, you probabl -

Pikmin has been such a chill experience, love the gameplay loop in this one and there just seems to be a ton of content to do. -
I always wondered when i was young if i would play video games forever
Casual replied to JonDnD's topic in System Wars
I don't force it but as long as there's games I'm interested in I'll play them, I'm a bit more particular these days but there's still plenty out there that appeals to me - way more than I have time for. I definitely go through periods where I play more or less - covid was certainly an uptick in gaming. I've diversified my hobbies as I got older but a lot of them are seasonal or prohibitively expensive/time consuming and just not realistic to do every day. Gaming is a really low cost/effort hobby in the grand scheme of things and if I just have a couple hours (or even 20-30 minutes) to kill at -

lol the wife and i did a rewatch like a year ago? we just kinda dropped it halfway through season 5 i think. that show kinda goes off the rails, imo. -
15k rolex? ain't that kinda like buying the lowest end BMW on the lot? 110k land rover sounds like a waste.

Damn so far that server is 3/3 on the bans. Must be nice to not rely on the weirdos to keep a place active, don’t have that luxury here.
