You know what? As a fan of the original too, I can definitely understand that. But seeing how they managed to perfectly nail the presentation, soundtrack and even combat, I’m staying optimistic that they can still pull off something that do justice to the original. Fuck, I’m grinding some levels to prepare for hard mode but it doesn’t feel like grinding at all cause I’m having so much fun with the combat.

Just finished it Holy shit, that ending is ballsy AF.

Damn things escalated quickly in Chapter 12.

That and side quests have been mostly generic stuff so far. Good thing there’s not many of those. I do like the colosseum in wall market though.

Already at Chapter 9 Wall Market. Damn it’s hard not to fall for Aerith. Elemental materia is cool as shit. Combined it with lightning materia and my slashes now have lightning sparks. I wanna try combining it with wind materia just to see the cool effects.

Word. Every character is surprisingly more likeable than you’d imagine them to be. The story and world is still intriguing. I think they nailed the combat as well, so much fun and style while not losing the tactical aspect. FF7 have so much charm compared to recent FFs like 13 and 15. Can’t wait to find out how SE will handle the overworld aspect in part 2 once we get out of Midgar.

It’s obvious Sony invested in the SSD instead of adding a couple more TFs. Whether it pays off though remains to be seen.

So it comes down to 15% power difference vs 100% speed difference. Personally, I'll take the speed.

I think the priority is to keep the 30fps stable and it's the right decision. It'd be a disaster if pro runs at a higher res than it can manage but drop frames below 30fps.

Damn game feels so much smoother the second run. Operator mode only for moving close to target, then immediately switch to punisher mode for attacking. And keep an eye on Atb bar to use abilities often. Still finding it hard to manage other party member at the same time though.

Oh I didn't even notice the Atb bar tbh. I was playing it like an action game. Will get back to it again later today.

I like to spam the attack button while going into command to use ability/magic/item but they are often gray out cause Cloud is in an attack animation. When i hit r2 to get Barret to do something the command is gray out too cause I think he is in an attack animation lmao.

Honestly its hard to see how sony can top this. Next gen Xbox will be much more competitive.

Makes sense. But still crazy that PSN alone generated more money than Nintendo in a year where Switch is on fire and this gen is dying.
