but what would the war be about? it makes no sense. :tom:

It’s a digital distribution platform war. Steam has a monopoly for far too long taking 30% royalties for evey game sold on their platform. More and more major publishers are choosing to release their games on their own stores. And some like Epic Games are courting small and medium size developers to secure content for their store.

In this case, CDPR is doing it for GOG.COM, their digital distribution platform. And probably cos there aren’t much of a userbase on UWP anyway.

So between Epic securing “exclusives” for their store, paying developers to stop them from releasing games on other stores(Ashen), and now this. Is it safe to say we are witnessing the start of the PC games store war? I’ll bet MS is also preparing for this with them buying up studios aggressively.

Never been a big fan but might enjoy with some of you fags of it’s not too laggy

I got some bad news for you. It’s a lagfest online especially with 4 players. I don’t understand how the net code for Smash online is so bad when Splatoon and MK work just fine.

Switch will probably the longest lasting Nintendo console before a new successor comes out, there will be revisions.

I can easily see it do 100+ million guaranteed if Nintendo doesn't somehow magically fuck up.

Yeah that's what I expect. It will have a chance of eclipsing the PS4 with the longer lifespan. Not that anyone would care by then, but still crazy to think about it.

Imagine if it goes on to beat PS2's LTD, LOL.

  5. Obviously the Switch will be underpowered compared to traditional console, not denying that. I'm just discussing its sales potential, it is almost at Xbox One LTD with less than 2 years on the market. And there is a lot of buzz for it still. And the high demand is not only limited in the US and Japan from what I'm witnessing.  Even in my country, the Switch have constantly been in high demand which is not what you usually see for a Nintendo console.

I wonder if Switch would manage to surpass PS4 life time. Just look at the 3DS, Nintendo will probably drag out the lifespan of the platform as long as they can if it is successful. This while PS4 will probably die quickly after PS5 is released. :wonder:

Good day for Switch and Xbox

    Less so for PS4

Tough to say tbh. Declaring the top selling hardware this time of year is difficult as different places see different results.

Switch outsold the PS4 the entire month outside of BF week. Ir appears PS4 edged it still on BF week itself though even with Switchs huge result

I THINK PS4 still takes the month, but by a pretty narrow margin

November will be closer than most people think, especially between Switch and PS4.

  8. NPD Nov 2018 will be a close race between PS4 and Switch. PS4 seems to drop the ball again with stock this year(insiders already hinting it might be down YOY). Switch by all accounts is looking to double their number from Nov last year.

NPD Dec 2018 will be a monster month for Switch, obliterating both the PS4 and Xbox.

Meanwhile Japan is a bloodbath as always, with Switch dominating more than 70% of the market. And 70% is probably being generous

With how well PS4 is doing, it is crazy how Nintendo manage to dominate like this

    :whew:

EDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nintendo Switch set two new records from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday: It became the best-selling Nintendo console in U.S. history for that five-day period, surpassing even Wii system sales. Nintendo Switch also had its best-selling week ever in the United States. In fact, according to Adobe Analytics, Nintendo Switch was among the most-purchased items online on Thanksgiving Day and the overall top-selling video game product online for the Black Friday-Cyber Monday time period.

No one should ever doubt Nintendo's mass appeal again :aitch:
