MGS4 was average for people that didn't love the series.

 

For those fortunate enough that did love it, it was the greatest fanservice ever. I can easily say that experiencing it was worth every single dollar i spent to buy a PS3 for that game alone.

 

Too bad some of you people will never feel such epicness

I couldn't get past the first 30 minutes of that game. I should go back and give it a shot. Game play just feels so dated.

It's horrible

not the game itself but the netcode and the shitty networking allowing hackers and shooting people 100 times but dying instead :P

but in the 80 hours i played those stuff didnt happen much, still it would be nice if it was a smooth experience

SoD is not as survival as i would have liked but its still far above TLOU. You die in TLOU and you get sent to checkpoint 5 minutes prior to that point. You die in SoD and that character is gone for good. Any of your survivors can also kick the bucket if you're not careful. I never died in the game but i came damn close quite a few times, and the tension during those moments was much greater than anything in TLOU.

but just the thought of you losing all your progress when your character dies is enough to instill that feeling of survival. you can't compare that with being reset to a checkpoint a few minutes before with all of your persistence and items intact like in TLOU....

 

Well, you actually have to be able to DIE to feel that permadeath tension.Almost dying but actually surviving for 15 times is meh.

Having permadeath and ALMOST NEVER dying is worthless.

DayZ for instance (with all its shitty problems etc) provided some of the most amazing tension i have felt the last 8 years IMO. Even a random example where I was literally guarding a doorway for 25 minutes without moving a muscle cause a group of raiders had spotted me  and the whole damn 25 minutes were filled with cold sweat, dilated pupils, small quick breaths, fear, anxiety and complete enjoyment.

I have never before played a game where i didn't press a single key for half an hour and felt such tension and fun. I dare anyone to find a similar experience.

 

 

 

Most of the heists are very linear. Do this, go there, do that, swtich to that character, do this etc.

yeah, but at least they are fun. this is the first gta i will actually complete (because i enjoy the campaign). i almost finished vice city, because i dug the vibe. i hated san andreas and gta 4.

Just starting KOA: Reckoning. Always wanted to play it back in the day but couldn't justify paying much. Hope its fun. I really want Dragon's Dogma but I can wait.

PISSED that A Wolf Among Us isn't available in NA for PSN till the 15th

 

KoA, ugh.... I stopped playing it around the halfway point of the game, the game just gets so tiring. There are sooooo many sidequests, you clear one and then three more pop up. It quickly gets to the point to where you feel like you're not making any progress because the quests just never stop coming. The combat is entertaining for awhile but even that gets tiring after awhile.

damn, i may get 3 months of live, down the road, so i can try out the online. the campaign is gold.

definitely finish the SP first, there are still issues with the Online that will be fixed eventually. But it's definitely worth it IMO.

Finished GTAV a week or so ago, fun game. Started played XIV and it's alright though I don't think I'll be paying once my free month ends.

Is State of Decay worth it after V? Obviously different types of games but yah.

Played some state of decay, its fun running around in that open world with zombies

but the mechanics are tiring, you have to search for supplies, protect your safehouses, people die all the time because you are not an omnipresent being etc.

it pretty much boils down to whether you want a slow pace zombie game or a somewhat fast zombie game...not that its L4D or something.

oh also the voice acting, writing and story is mediocre as hell.

i feel im dissing the game too much though writing all this , cause its a whole lotta fun :( 

the pacing complaint is very subjective , i just couldnt run around all the time doing stuff lol

I tried playing Planescape: Torment but I was having problems with the graphics because the resolution is 640X480 naturally but my monitor is widescreen so doesn't even support that resolution.. Downloaded a mod for widescreen monitors but it wouldn't work. Ended not bothering even playing the game which I am very depressed about because I was excited for the game. Meh.

something wrong with your drivers or your gfx card, planescape played fine on my new pc with widescreen mod

hmm i didnt collect ALL of the statues , i think you do heavy attacks by holding the punch or kick button 

also never try to grapple a grappler of course

i hope the holding down buttons is what does it cause i cant remember anything else about the grappling enemies 

perhaps flying kicks work well too.

I keep getting my ass whooped in the bam bam lounge in sleeping dogs (the guy who grapples always kills me). Any advice on how to get more health and strength, besides food and drinks? I'm getting bored of fighting.

they were extremely easy once you found how to beat them but yea so annoying until you do
