The Pillars of Eternity franchise > New Vegas IMO, so they've maintained a level of quality since then that is a good sign. PoE2 was a noticable step down from PoE1 and Tyranny in writing, though, so I'd temper my writing expectations from anything Obsidian that Chris Avellone isn't involved in.
