Basically Its a free framework that makes it way easier for developers to implement cross platform play in their games. So essentially we're going to get to a point where most Unreal Engine games with online components will have crossplay if the developers choose to go that route.
jehurey 3,313
Epic Games will be expanding everything. Their game engine. Their game store. Their gaming services. They really seem to have an organized sense of ambition.
Remij 4,832
No... by far the biggest most exciting thing is UE5 and the fact that artists will no longer have to author multiple LODs for game assets. They can simply import from Zbrush or CAD and the system automatically adjusts poly budget based on resolution. This will vastly improve the quality of in game models, as well as make development FAR more efficient and cost effective for developers.
