Another marketing blunder for Samsung :D kinda like how they deleted their videos on YouTube claiming the headphone jack is essential after they decided to remove it! :D

Spin it how you want.. but that feature was another feature that Apple copied from Samsung.... damn.. did Apple have any original Ideas anymore?  sheesh

You mean like something that was done by Google years ago?

Apple is the chinese company of gadgets and their legion of blind fanboys will celebrate it.

Nothing like googles. It will feature two displays.. in both lenses, where Googles only displayed info on one lens.. well, not even a lens. It was a big block that was in front of the lens. be powered by the iPhone, no camera for creepy recording, and the big advantage is LiDAR

Quote

The Apple Glass' name and general product design will earn it a lot of comparisons , Google's failed heads-up display that was originally released in 2013. It sounds like Apple doesn't want to repeat a lot of the mistakes of Google Glass, and there are a number of key differences here. First, looking like an actual pair of glasses would be a big improvement over the Google Glass design, which looks like something would wear. . Glass has a single glass block, so it displays information in only one eye, while Apple Glass reportedly displays in both lenses.

Second, Apple Glass' lack of a camera is a smart move, since conversation around Google Glass was focused almost entirelyaround the face-mounted camera and whether or not people were being secretly recorded. Glass was one of the first consumer heads-up-display computers, but all anyone could talk about was where it was appropriate to wear a camera, basically boiling the product down to a face-mounted Go-Pro.

The third big differentiator here is actual augmented reality technology, which would be able to sense the outside world in 3D and overlay information on it. Google Glass didn't do any real augmented reality—it was mostly just a transparent smartphone, meaning it showed a flat screen that was oblivious to what you were looking at and never interacted with the outside world. The future heads-up-display technology we all see in movies, like highlighting an object in your vision and telling you about it or overlying navigation instructions in the 3D world, weren't possible.

The other major mistake of Google Glass was Google's typical half-hearted, "hobbyist"-style support of the product. Glass never really plugged in to the Google ecosystem, it had a terrible app SDK, and it never got the post-release support its users wanted (Glass Explorer #1499 here. I'm still bitter). Most observers think Apple is already gearing up developers for Apple Glass support. Apple's existing AR Kit SDK seems destined to work out of the box on Apple Glass, and things like the lidar component would give Apple Glass comparable hardware to the iPad Pro, which is already in developers' hands.

Google Glass had 0 augmented reality features. This about 5 gens above what google tried (and failed....hard) with.

Google announces a new $999 Glass augmented reality headset

Wait you think glass doesn't have AR?  Ghostz clueless as always.

Apple Years late to the party and blatantly copying again.

:lawl:

Glass is used by enterprises and professionals.   Doctors, surgeons, engineers and architects etc use Google Glass.

Apple will be aiming at teens who use tick tok and snap chat..... teeny bopper shit that you like :mj:

That device isn’t designed for individuals, LOL. Wtf. You can’t even buy one if you wanted to. It’s for factory workers and for displaying instructions. :D there is no app support, no practical use for anyone who isn’t a factory worker. Surgeons definitely aren’t using it, and it’s another flop.

meanwhile, apples will take over the industry. Samsung will Undoubtedly copy apples approach, as always.

being first to market isn’t apples strategy, it’s being the best in market. Which these will be.

googles doesn’t eve have lidar, which again is the difference here. LOL also there is no “block” on the Apple glass, both lens will display data...directly in the lens. :juggle:

Oh wait, another half baked attempt by google LOL It’s just another heads up display :kaz:

“Again, this is an enterprise product, so it’s not designed for everyday consumer use. It’s primarily for jobs in construction and on factory floors as well as in the medical field and other disciplines that can make use of a simpler heads-up display and that don’t (yet) require something like a full-blown mixed reality device like Microsoft HoloLens

edit: it actually is recently available to be bought by anyone, tho it’s “only designed for developers and workers”

so I guess the question is, why don’t you own one @Goukosan? Oh yeah, it’s trash lol

Ghostz can't wait to tick tok and snap chat from his apple glass :mj:

He’s abandoned his own argument. :aitch: the Apple glass won’t have a camera, can you tell me how I would create tiktocks or Snapchats with it? :D

now he’s gonna claim bu bu you’ll watch them. He’s back to saying app support is a bad thing!

but wait, I’m still waiting for Samsung’s approach prior to copying air drop! I’m also still waiting for you to show me what AR is in the google glass!

he can’t do either! :D

the final nail in the coffin, tiktok is charting higher on a Android than iOS, LMAO!!

what, the thing is $500 and it won't even have the ability to record?

So what exactly is the point? Its just people who are too lazy to look at their phone..........or look at their wrist, and move onto an even smaller screen than either their phone and wrist?

Guess we will find out later this year. But a big complaint about the google glass was the camera, aka glassholes. I wear (and prefer) contacts tho, so I’ll be holding out for the sun glasses versions

So? That's just an issue of refining the technology.  People aren't saying they didn't want a camera on their phone.

The camera is what allows for AR functionality like Google Maps telling you what is on the street as you walk by.

Google Glass was based on 2013/2014 technology. If a 2020 product has less features than Google Glass......jesus lol

that's just for distance measuring, or 3d mapping an environment.

think about it.............travelling in another country, you see a sign in a language you don't understand.

and then, with your glasses, the language turns to english right in front of your eyes.

can't do that with a lidar sensor. And that's a cool, useful feature.

We’ll see what they come up with:yeshrug: there’s nothing on the market atm that does what you provided an example of yet
