CGI or “in-engine” trailers should be shunned

Recommended Posts

Does ANYONE enjoy this shit? I’d rather faked gameplay trailers (ala halo 2) than completely fake, resource hogging, unrepresentative of the actual game trailers.

I just do not see why companies continue to do it. Who is impressed or enjoys them?

It’s continuing to happen, so I continue to say it. :reg:

It's been happening for 25 years and will never end. The truth is you have posting tourettes and needed the rush of posting something and your limited intelligence prevented you from actually generating a new topic to post that wasn't race bait.

CGI trailers have no place in game reveals or marketing nowadays, but in-engine trailers that accurately show the game's graphics and cutscenes are fine. Releasing a trailer with nothing but out of context gameplay clips just doesn't have the same effect.

Do movie trailers show scenes that are not in the movie?

there should only be one trailer for each game. we have premiere trailers, beta trailers, alpha trailers, gameplay trailers, story trailers, dev talk trailers, launch trailers. just go away with all the shitty trailers.

give us a trailer that starts with story and shit what is about and include some gameplay, thats all. trailers suck any way, you know like the trend with movie trailers basically showing the entire thing lol

they can keep announcement and reveal trailers, absolutely amazing. an announcement for an announcement for a reveal date.

Games are not movies. And most games that show cutscenes in trailers do end up including those same ones, even if its just during the intro.
