Let's say there's a customer who really doesn't feel like they can afford a $500 console that has all the bells and whistles, and that 4K stuff.

 

And they think about the cheaper Xbox Series S that will be somewhere supposedly close to $300 (I don't think it will be $299 because they still need to have the same Ryzen CPU in that model) Lets say $349. It will probably be an all-digital console, as well.

 

Sony comes in with a PS5 all-digital model at, say $449. Yes it cost more, but it has no compromise in horsepower.

 

That gives Sony the leeway to charge $549 for the disc-drive model, while trying to take away any potential customers that would go to Lockhart.

This also brings the question whats the price difference between a discless or disc PS5. Since the fucking thing is like $15 bucks saved.
