Rumor -Halo Infinite to have a single shot story

Recommended Posts

This would have been one of the reasons they built a new engine from the ground up to enable their developers to do stuff like this.  They would have had to build an all new streaming pipeline since the old engine was pretty dated.

Pretty cool if true though.  If you watch the Discover Hope trailer, you can even see when he's in first person, which looks like gameplay, and then steps out in front of the camera and seamlessly transitions to the cutscene.

It’s not a feature, it’s how the game is made :ben:

You're a fucking dumbass, clearly it would be the result of the storage solution making it a system specific feature. The One versions would have intermittent loading sequences.

This game is built into large scale sandbox environments.

Nah.  If this is true, the game will be built to stream and load in the background at all times.  It's no different than a Naughty Dog game, or God of War or any Sony story driven game really... there's no "loading screens"..  That's basically what this will be.  One continuous shot story... by design.  It will be like that on all platforms because to do something like that in the first place you have to design your entire game around it.

Could you imagine how stupid it would be if God of War on PS4 stopped and gave a loading screen after a cutscene and then continued on right where it left off?? lmao..

This is a cross-gen game, not a current gen title. What you're rambling on about are current gen games. You're not weighing the concessions required to elevate this on Series X while making it functional on Xbox One.

On the One you'll undoubtedly get hit with loads between areas.
