MS rolling Live into game pass (Rumour)

Recommended Posts

Yeah, it actually surprised me that they wouldn't have done F2P free already, to maintain parity with Sony.

Does that mean that Fortnite required Xbox Live Gold to play online multiplayer these past 3 years?

Because if so, that was a massively stupid mistake on behalf of Microsoft. They're way late on fixing that.

They're trying to corral everybody into $15/month GamePass ultimate.

And then they'll say "gee golly with XBL GOld and xCloud included, we really should raise prices" and then bump it up to $20.

Live is going to be made free which will in turn attract a ridiculous amount of people, and xCloud is going to roll into its place within GamePass as the subsidy for it.

What do you mean by subsidy?

By "rolling it in" with GamePass, at no cost............Microsoft is telling us what they think its currently worth.

They would subsidizing the loss of Live's cost by filling its shoes with another service. Free Live would be a major draw to the platform, and GamePass an incredible value in its place combined with xCloud.

Nobody wants your stupid hot takes, Jerry.

But they're not making any new money on the service.

Not to mention that if GamePass were an incredible value in the first place..............they wouldn't need to be "rolling in" two other services into it at no cost.

So...........either there's a price hike incoming, or they're having trouble keeping momentum up.

Oh and by the way Disney just announced that they have 60.1 million subscribers on their relatively new Disney+ service.

Judging from their quarterly earnings report............doesn't appear so.

Since they're not primarily in the subscription business as their main money-maker.

But you're not judging quarterly earnings reports here..... you're judging subscriber amounts relative to time on the market.  Too late to change goal posts Jehurey.

No, I am judging two companies who have made subscription models a primary part of their business.

Because you are failing notice that Sony would be plainly aware that their focus on selling retail games would affect their streaming business. PSnow only exist on fringes compared to what Sony is really trying to sell you, and putting most of their promotional effort trying to sell you: retail games and physical hardware.

That's not the case. Disney+ most directly correlates with GamePass. In everything but the subscription numbers, anyway. LOL
