"Value" 4tflops and 10 gigs of RAM. It's used to appeal to technically clueless people, ie the majority.

It'd be laughable if it was priced higher than 300 with X being 500.

it looks much better than that huge black monolith as well.

of course when the games all start getting 5.0's and 6.0's and get cancelled, MS will be forced to drop this thing to $199.

at that price it's worth nabbing just to play xbox 360 games on.

Only if you have digital X360 games on your XBL account, because this has no disc drive.

This box is 100% built for getting you onto GamePass.

Which makes me believe that Microsoft is probably going to allocate less than 50% of stock to buy at $299, and then the majority of stock is going to be sold as Xbox All-Access subscriptions.

Paying for this, and two years of GamePass Ultimate (because you have to have GamePass + XBL Gold) for $25 a month for 24 months is $600.

$600 for a 1080p machine.

And if the ray-tracing works anywhere similar to the nVidia GPUs, then having fewer processors on the GPU means they have to diminish the amount of ray-tracing effects on this particular sku.

So are developers going to make a version of Halo that has no ray-tracing, and they have to create alternate forms of lighting and shadow for the last gen XBOs/XBOx version, and then create a version of Halo that has ray-tracing effects turned on for the Series X version, and then have a version of Halo that sorta has some ray-tracing effects on the Series S version?

Where's the own age? Thats a great price at 299

Youre getting a GPU thats 1/3 as powerful, smaller SSD, no disc drive and 10 gigs of RAM instead of 16. The price is good but the cut corners are absolutely brutal. But since its cheap its a good entry into a fairly shittye ecosystem.

A system that is 1/3 as powerful.. but is designed around running games around a specific resolution range.

It's not "cut corners" for fuck sakes... it's being designed specifically for a certain market.

It's a SMARTLY designed system.

The price is decent for an entry level next gen experience but I still can't get over that design. Multiple overpaid people sat together and actually gave that thing a green light and thought it was great :tom:
