Intel Arc GPUs to launch in early 2022

Recommended Posts

Intel Xe based GPUs are finally becoming a product, and they look set to release in early 2022.

-Full DX12U support

-Mesh Shaders

-RT hardware support

-AI based Neural Network SuperSampling

Intel is finally bringing some much needed competition to the discreet GPU arena.  Nvidia and AMD have some new competition.. and AMD should especially be worried because Intel bought up a bunch of TSMC 3nm process capacity blocking out Apple and AMD... which means Intel could have the first 3nm discreet GPUs out there.  Intel also poached one of the creators responsible for DLSS from Nvidia, so chances are their AI based DLSS competitor is going to be quite good.  I saw a post from a well known leaker who suggested that Intel's mid-ranged GPU lines up quite well with the 6700XT and 3070...being only a few percent under.  That's pretty impressive, and that is supposedly using their integrated GPU drivers... not drivers specifically developer for these GPUs... so things could get pretty interesting in the future.

Here's a quick little game sizzle reel running on their Arc GPUs.  After that ends, they have a tease of a little tech demo to come.
