Thoughts on Pelosi's potential trip to Taiwan?

During a different time I think this would have been a good thing. But right now the focus needs to be on Russia. They need to be crippled first, then the focus can shift to China and their bullying of Taiwan. Threatening to shoot down Pelosi's plane is crazy though. Its clearly no more than a bluff, much like a lot of the garbage that Putin likes to say. These authoritarian governments are all cut from the same cloth. 

 

But at this point, any full scale invasion of Taiwan is actually not really feasible for China. They don't have the amphibious capabilities for an attack of that scale. This guy does a good job of detailing that in this video for anyone interested:

 

 

At best they can set up a blockade of some kind. But I don't think that would be sustainable for long either. Especially given the economic issues they're currently facing.

Trump was trying to get NATO countries to pay their fair share. The Ukrainian war just proves how pitiful their militaries have become over the years. Germany and France should have been leading the support for Ukraine since the war is happening in their background but like always the U.S needs to come in and save the day.

There are no indications that Russia would have invaded Ukraine if Trump invaded Ukraine, in fact everything points to the invasion not happening.

 

Trump was not afraid to bomb Russian mercenaries in Syria. Putin knew the probability that his troops would be attacked by U.S./NATO forces was high. Which is why he made NO moves until Biden came into office.

 

Biden is too scared to even give Ukraine the long range missiles they need to be able to hit the Sevastopol base in Crimea, the launching pad for the submarines firing cruise missiles against civilian targets in Ukraine's borders responsible for the deaths of countless women and children.

 

Biden's fear of escalation is irrational and that plays exactly into Putin's strategy.
