The FBI has conducted an unannounced search of Trump's office/quarters in Mar-a-Lago, with a warrant signed by federal judge in Florida ***UPDATE: NUCLEAR WEAPONS DOCS***

Here's the most basic explanation of what is known, because at this time the FBI nor the DoJ have given any official statement.

Quote

Former President Donald J. Trump said on Monday that the F.B.I. had searched his Palm Beach, Fla., home and had broken open a safe — an account that, if accurate, would be a dramatic escalation in the various investigations into the former president. The search, according to two people familiar with the investigation, appeared to be focused on material that Mr. Trump had brought with him to Mar-a-Lago, his private club and residence, after he left the White House. Those boxes contained many pages of classified documents, according to a person familiar with their contents. The discovery of classified information at Mar-a-Lago was referred to the Justice Department by the National Archives and Records Administration, which said it had found classified material in 15 boxes at the residence.

The FBI search actually began since 10:00 am, Florida time, but the first anybody publicly knew about it was when Trump made a social media post about it sometime around 6pm.

So this FBI raid was so 100% by the book, nobody leaked it out. Nobody in the media knew about it starting, nobody was even told after it had been underway for hours.

Additional information coming hours later is that it is related to documents he had taken, that the National Archives had repeatedly been requesting him to return back.

Its reported that he returned back documents as recently as this past February, but that means that Trump must have separated documents, and kept some while returning the rest back.

What is key here is that the FBI or DoJ must have presented evidence or intelligence that suggest that a crime was occurring, in order for the Judge to approve an unannounced search warrant.

The bar for a Judge approving an UNANNOUNCED search warrant, for not just a former politician, but a former PRESIDENT, would have to be ridiculously high, the FBI and/or DoJ must have presented some very, very convincing stuff to the judge to imply that they needed to move fast, because they have proof of a crime already occurring, or in progress.

Within the past 24 hours:

  • Paul Manafort has admitted, in an interview, that he did in fact give data directly to Russian GRU officer Konstantin Kilimnik, during the Trump campaign.
  • Alex Jones entire text message data has been sent to the Jan 6th commission, and Fox News insiders are saying that Tucker Carlson is "shitting his pants" right now because of messages of his that may be in that data package.
  • And now Trump's Mar-a-Lago quarters have been searched for the FBI, and its looking likely that criminal charges are incoming.

And criminal charges, such as taking records, and even destroying classified records, would make barred from running for office.

Oh, and tonight is the 48th anniversary of Richard Nixon announcing his resignation, that would take effect the following day.

FBI delivers subpoenas to several Pa. Republican lawmakers: sources say

Scott Perry

According to multiple sources, several Pennsylvania state lawmakers were issued subpoenas or paid visits by federal investigators looking for information about U.S. Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa., and an effort to seek alternate electors in the 2020 presidential election to allow former President Donald Trump to remain in office. (AP Photo/Carolyn Kaster, File)

Basically, Republicans in those states that Trump wanted to replace the electors with illegitimate "alternative electors" is now being hunted down by the FBI.

Rumors are suggesting that former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows may be the one that has started singing, and he's the one turning on Trump and giving the Dept. of Justice the goods. Which is how they got the warrant, and they knew exactly where to search.

One of Trump's people who was representing him in discussion with the National Archives, just revealed that the DOJ had already sent them a subpoena since "this Spring" to turnover documents.

He was actually revealing this, apparently thinking this makes Trump look good and the DOJ look bad.

But this basically proves that the DOJ and the National Archives had already tried less aggressive, but still clearly serious methods to let them know that they wanted stuff back, and they were going to start doing more legal actions to show how serious they were.

So, none of this should have been a surprise for Trump. He already knew they were starting to get more aggressive months ago.

And some of these documents are, according to NYT article, very serious classified documents.

After Merrick Garland gave a brief statement today, his DoJ is petitioning the court that issued the warrant to unseal and make the warrant public.

Trump is talking shit, but he is perfectly free to show the world his copy of the warrant that is in his possession. if he blocks the petition to unseal the warrant, then it will show that he is embarrassed by what it is on there.

Top Secret Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) can only be viewed and used in a SCIF, a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility. These buildings are believed to have specific construction requirements and are coordinated by security officers. Access to SCI is supposed to only be granted to people with at least Top Secret security clearances.

Information such as that relating to US nuclear weapons wouldn't even be presented in paper form. It would be a digital file.

So having the documents printed onto paper and LEAVING a SCIF room with those documents is already a crime.

Its not a mistake, its 100% intentional. There is absolutely no way such documentation leaves a SCIF by accident.

And you know damn well Trump isn't capable of printing them out, himself.

So somebody helped him.

And therefore there is a second person (at minimum) who knows that they committed a crime for Trump, and knows where Trump had the documents.

The working theory is that some major Saudi Arabian officials met with Trump last week in New Jersey, and the US Government realized that he was going to be attempting to sell the documents in the near future. So they had to move.

Just to be clear, a President can DECLASSIFY documents by executive order, and there's a process for that.

Except. For. Government. Nuclear. Secrets.

The Atomic Act of 1954 is specifically meant to forbid the president, or any other public official, from obtaining such documents. The president cannot declassify those documents.

Donald Trump was literally in possession of the one thing our laws do not allow him to have. And he was intentionally hiding it.  This is literally as close to the worse-case scenario to the amount of damage he could do as President.
